Where, is that a real Awake cover? Is it available online to read? Seriously, I haven't read anything on evolution in the pubs since my eyes were opened, and I wonder what it would look like to me now.
Yep..it's real alright. I literally almost hurled when I read it. It's that bad, or good if you're BIOFLEX.
Here's the review:

LOL, I just found this on their website---it doesn't apply to current JW's though!
You can let others tell you what you are allowed to think and believe. Or you may wish to investigate some of the evidence yourself and reach your own conclusion. As you read about recent discoveries of science presented on the following pages, ask yourself, ‘Is it logical to conclude that there is a Creator?’

So NC I take it you probably haven't seen the convention release from last year..."The Origin of Life" brochure? It's a mind-numbing load of shite, of course.
There was a download link on here at one point. If not...I could probably upload my copy somewhere...for your entertainment.
Unshackled--I would LOVE to see that. i'm getting ready to go to Where's link now.
When I was IN my favorite books were the blue Evolution book and the Creator book. I thought they were educating me on science. Now that I'm studying science (for real, like outside the University of WT) I am PISSED at how misinformed I was. It took me weeks just to grasp the scientific method because of all the deprogramming I've had to do.
It's insidioius, because not only do they misrepresent the results (which one would expect) they misrepresent the process. It's the most exciting stuff I've ever learned--and the hardest. THANKS WT for screwing with my thinking process.
Anyway, I haven't revisited those books to see how they stack up. But looking at something fresh will really help put it in perspective. I feel equipped now to find all the flaws.

Does science disprove there is a magic pink unicorn on uranus?
Oh there's a magic pink unicorn alright but it ain't on Uranus
Here is from the Awake-november 2011
"Other scientists have arrived at a similar conclusion since Jeans penned those words. “The overall organization of the universe has suggested to many a modern astronomer an element of design,” wrote physicist Paul Davies. One of the most famous physicists and mathematicians of all time, Albert Einstein, wrote: “The fact that [the natural world] is comprehensible is a miracle.” In the eyes of many, that miracle includes life itself, from its fundamental building blocks to the amazing human brain"
Okay--now. I have read and reread. Can anybody tell me how Einsteins quote supports this author's assertion? It appears almost random and slipped in simply to add a heavy hitter's name--but not idea--to the argument.
