The Kindness of Strangers

The witlesses pretend to be kind--often using "generosity" as an excuse for getting rid of their own rubbish. And, they always have ropes and titanium cables attached to their "offers"--usually in terms of making one feel obliged to continue (or become) witlesses, or do more as witlesses. If they think they can get someone to pious-sneer, they might get rid of their rubbish so they can look generous, and make that person feel obligated to pious-sneer.
Now, I wonder how many witlesses in this country are sending genuine donations to their brothers in places where earthquakes have happened, versus how many are donating through the Red Cross toward those same sites. The earthquake they had in Japan this past March, the Christchurch earthquake, the earthquake in Chile, and in Haiti--you hear lots of worldly charities donating toward helping people getting back on their feet from those. But, the witlesses only like to boast about how they got there first (only their own, and only to guilt them into pious-sneering or to delude people into thinking God's spirit is upon the witlesses).

What a touching story serenitynow. Thanks for sharing. Good kind people will be generous and stingy disgruntled people will walk all over others with their self righteous attitudes. It matters not whether they are JWs or not although the WT does seem to magnify the negative characteristics. I have seen what sinis describes among the witnesses, including scam artists who "fleeced the flock" as well as genuinely kind people who have helped when we needed it most. I have also experienced the kindness of strangers.
I am truly happy for your sister. May she overcome her smoking. Perhaps that will help her find another better job should she become laid off. Or perhaps she will not lose her job after all. In any case I wish the best to you and your sister.
