The Pentagon has hundreds of surveillance cameras and this is all they can show us.

In addition, the FBI has to go and seize surveillance video from the Gulf Station across the Interstate that could have shown us what hit the Pentagon....

No 757 is capable of flying at 500 mph less than 20 feet off the ground for several hundred yards let alone with someone in the pilot's seat who couldn't even fly a Cessna, which by the way, would have left more debris than was found there. This was a 757 that obviously had no engines because they didn't even put a dent in the wall.

The building didn't even collapse until 20 minutes after the hit, and this was after the firemen were pulled back from the building.

Anybody who is not the slightest bit suspicious of all this must be eating sedatives for breakfast lunch and dinner.

I think you meant a "757 is not capable". The ground effect alone would be bumping you around a good 30-50ft.

Yes, and that is according to expert pilots and no one in the industry even disputes this. But this "757", on this particular day when the laws of physics were suspended in Washington, Pennsylvania and New York, was capable of creating an almost perfectly round 16-foot hole at ground level, penetrating 3 rings and six steel-reinforced concrete walls, leaving another almost identical 16-foot hole as it exited out the C-ring. According to the Navy personnel in the building who testified at the 911 Commission "hearings", this 757 ran on cordite which is rocket fuel.

You gotta give that Bin Laden credit huh? How did he manage to wire the Pentagon with demolition explosives in case the building didn't collapse?

The hijackers on American Airlines Flight 77 were led by Hani Hanjour , who piloted the aircraft into the Pentagon. [1] Hanjour first came to the United States in 1990. [2] He trained at the CRM Airline Training Center in Scottsdale, Arizona , earning his FAA commercial pilot's certificate in April 1999. [3]

Reagan National controllers then vectored an unarmed National Guard C130H cargo aircraft, which had just taken off en route to Minnesota, to identify and follow the suspicious aircraft. The C-130H pilot spotted it, identified it as a Boeing 757, attempted to follow its path, and at 9:38, seconds after impact, reported to the control tower: "looks like that aircraft crashed into the Pentagon sir." 147

    Some Eyewitness Accounts
Flight 77 Crash at the Pentagon, Sept. 11, 2001

"On a Metro train to National Airport, Allen Cleveland looked out the window to see a jet heading down toward the Pentagon. 'I thought, "There's no landing strip on that side of the subway tracks,"' he said. Before he could process that thought, he saw 'a huge mushroom cloud. The lady next to me was in absolute hysterics.'"
    - "Our Plane Is Being Hijacked." Washington Post, 12 Sep 2001

"I was supposed to have been going to the Pentagon Tuesday morning at about 11:00am (EDT) and was getting ready, and thank goodness I wasn't going to be going until later. It was so shocking, I was listening to the news on what had happened in New York, and just happened to look out the window because I heard a low flying plane and then I saw it hit the Pentagon. It happened so fast... it was in the air one moment and in the building the next..."
    - "U.S. Under Attack: Your Eyewitness Accounts." BBC News, 14 Sep 2001

"As I approached the Pentagon, which was still not quite in view, listening on the radio to the first reports about the World Trade Center disaster in New York, a jetliner, apparently at full throttle and not more than a couple of hundred yards above the ground, screamed overhead. ... Seconds before the Pentagon came into view a huge black cloud of smoke rose above the road ahead. I came around the bend and there was the Pentagon billowing smoke, flames and debris, blackened on one side and with a gaping hole where the airplane had hit it."
    - "Eyewitness at the Pentagon." Human Events, 17 Sep 2001

"Frank Probst, an information management specialist for the Pentagon Renovation Program, left his office trailer near the Pentagon's south parking lot at 9:36 a.m. Sept. 11. Walking north beside Route 27, he suddenly saw a commercial airliner crest the hilltop Navy Annex. American Airlines Flight 77 reached him so fast and flew so low that Probst dropped to the ground, fearing he'd lose his head to its right engine."
    - "A Defiant Recovery." The Retired Officer Magazine, January 2002

"USAToday.com Editor Joel Sucherman saw it all: an American Airlines jetliner fly left to right across his field of vision as he commuted to work Tuesday morning. It was highly unusual. The large plane was 20 feet off the ground and a mere 50 to 75 yards from his windshield. Two seconds later and before he could see if the landing gear was down or any of the horror-struck faces inside, the plane slammed into the west wall of the Pentagon 100 yards away. 'My first thought was he's not going to make it across the river to [Reagan] National Airport. But whoever was flying the plane made no attempt to change direction,' Sucherman said. 'It was coming in at a high rate of speed, but not at a steep angle—almost like a heat-seeking missile was locked onto its target and staying dead on course.'"

"'I mean it was like a cruise missile with wings, went right there and slammed into the Pentagon,' eyewitness Mike Walter said of the plane that hit the military complex. 'Huge explosion, great ball of fire, smoke started billowing out, and then it was just chaos on the highway as people either tried to move around the traffic and go down either forward or backwards,' he said."

"Omar Campo, a Salvadorean, was cutting the grass on the other side of the road when the plane flew over his head. 'It was a passenger plane. I think an American Airways plane,' Mr Campo said. 'I was cutting the grass and it came in screaming over my head. I felt the impact. The whole ground shook and the whole area was full of fire. I could never imagine I would see anything like that here.'"

"Steve Eiden, a truck driver, had picked up his cargo that Tuesday morning in Williamsburg, Va., and was en route to New York City and witnessed the aftermath. ... He took the Highway 95 loop in the area of the Pentagon and thought it odd to see a plane in restricted airspace, thinking to himself it was odd that it was flying so low. 'You could almost see the people in the windows,' he said as he watched the plane disappear behind a line of trees, followed by a tall plume of black smoke. Then he saw the Pentagon on fire, and an announcement came over the radio that the Pentagon had been hit."

"Traffic is normally slow right around the Pentagon as the road winds and we line up to cross the 14th Street bridge heading into the District of Columbia. I don’t know what made me look up, but I did and I saw a very low-flying American Airlines plane that seemed to be accelerating. My first thought was just 'No, no, no, no,' because it was obvious the plane was not heading to nearby Reagan National Airport. It was going to crash."
    - "September 11 Remembered." University Week, 4 Oct 2001

"Father Stephen McGraw was driving to a graveside service at Arlington National Cemetery the morning of Sept. 11, when he mistakenly took the Pentagon exit onto Washington Boulevard, putting him in a position to witness American Airlines Flight 77 crash into the Pentagon. 'I was in the left hand lane with my windows closed. I did not hear anything at all until the plane was just right above our cars.' McGraw estimates that the plane passed about 20 feet over his car, as he waited in the left hand lane of the road, on the side closest to the Pentagon. 'The plane clipped the top of a light pole just before it got to us, injuring a taxi driver, whose taxi was just a few feet away from my car. I saw it crash into the building,' he said. 'My only memories really were that it looked like a plane coming in for a landing. I mean in the sense that it was controlled and sort of straight. That was my impression,' he said. 'There was an explosion and a loud noise and I felt the impact. I remember seeing a fireball come out of two windows (of the Pentagon). I saw an explosion of fire billowing through those two windows.'"

"I witnessed the jet hit the Pentagon on September 11. From my office on the 19th floor of the USA TODAY building in Arlington, Va., I have a view of Arlington Cemetery, Crystal City, the Pentagon, National Airport and the Potomac River. ... Shortly after watching the second tragedy, I heard jet engines pass our building, which, being so close to the airport is very common. But I thought the airport was closed. I figured it was a plane coming in for landing. A few moments later, as I was looking down at my desk, the plane caught my eye. It didn't register at first. I thought to myself that I couldn't believe the pilot was flying so low. Then it dawned on me what was about to happen. I watched in horror as the plane flew at treetop level, banked slightly to the left, drug it's wing along the ground and slammed into the west wall of the Pentagon exploding into a giant orange fireball. Then black smoke. Then white smoke."
    - Steve Anderson, Director of Communications, USA Today

"Henry Ticknor, intern minister at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington, Virginia, was driving to church that Tuesday morning when American Airlines Flight 77 came in fast and low over his car and struck the Pentagon. 'There was a puff of white smoke and then a huge billowing black cloud,' he said."

"Northern Virginia resident John O'Keefe was one of the commuters who witnessed the attack on the Pentagon. 'I was going up 395, up Washington Blvd., listening to the the news, to WTOP, and from my left side-I don't know whether I saw or heard it first- I saw a silver plane I immediately recognized it as an American Airlines jet,' said the 25-year-old O'Keefe, managing editor of Influence, an American Lawyer Media publication about lobbying. 'It came swooping in over the highway, over my left shoulder, straight across where my car was heading. I'd just heard them saying on the radio that National Airport was closing, and I thought, "That's not going to make it to National Airport." And then I realized where I was, and that it was going to hit the Pentagon. There was a burst of orange flame that shot out that I could see through the highway overpass. Then it was just black. Just black, thick smoke.'"

    No plane.

The vertical stabilizer of the plane is visible in both CCTV videos. The body of the plane is blocked by the foreground post in one of the videos, whereas the other one shows clearly something there but it is difficult to see because the video has crappy contrast. The body of the plane can be best seen by looping the frame showing the vertical stabilizer with the frame prior and seeing the pixel changes in the space in front of it. Behind the wings is a jet of grey smoke or dust. The plane had just hit a bunch of light poles, including one just an instant before the videos captured the plane.

Hitting that building right at the wall would be an act of extremely skilled piloting as well.

The person at the controls was simply aiming at the building, one of the largest office buildings in the world. It was an easy target. There is no reason to think he was trying to hit the plane at the exact spot where it hit. This seems to be an example of the Texas Sharpshooter Fallacy.

As big as a 757 is you would expect to see the tail section flip over the roof and continue to travel.

Why would you expect that? You seem to think the plane hit higher up than it actually did. The nose struck the building right at the top of the first floor. The impact created a two-story hole and the rear portion of the fuselage was the last portion of the plane to reach the building, where it would have gone right into the hole created by the rest of the plane. The lightweight composite stabilizer was taller but certainly didn't have the mass to damage the building much.

The Pentagon has hundreds of surveillance cameras and this is all they can show us.

Source? It certainly had a fair number but hundreds? All the extant videos (some like the Fort Myers videos were not collected and were taped over) have been released except for the one purported to have been from the Sheraton (which would have mainly have been just a view of a parking lot) and the DPS videos which were given to the FBI. The latter were not determined to be useful. There were just three DPS cameras visible along the Pentagon's west exterior (all the other cameras would have had zero relevance) and if we had to speculate, the two on the corners were set up to watch at close range the parking areas next to them and the one in the middle would have been set up to look down at the helipad right in front of it. The two checkpoint gate cameras captured the plane because they were pointed directly towards the plane's path (so in fact the gate post blocks the view of the plane in one of the two videos) hundreds of yards away — at a distance far enough for the 1fps camera to have captured an image of the plane travelling at 500+ mph. It would have been extremely unlikely for the three other cameras even if they included the flight path in their field of vision (which is doubtful if they were pointed towards the parking lots and helipad) to have captured the plane at close range at 1fps. And as for the camera on the mast grazed by the plane, the VDOT did not record the live footage of its cameras installed to monitor traffic conditions.

Anyway, it is amusing that truthers make a big deal about the videos but ignore all the other evidence that was collected and analyzed. You know, such insignificant things like the FDR data from AA77 (found inside the Pentagon), and radar data from ADW and DCA and IAD, and ATC recordings in which they tracked the plane for its last few minutes with visual confirmation from a nearby pilot (who described it as a 757), and DNA identification of passenger remains inside the building, and personal effects of passengers recovered inside the building, and photos of airliner wreckage inside and outside the building, and impact evidence along the plane's path (including a grazed tree, the VDOT mast, several sheered and toppled light posts, a fence with twisted metal posts, a generator trailer torn apart, a ground structure nicked by the engine), and over a hundred witnesses to the descent and impact (including a cop recorded calling in witnessing an AA plane headed to the Pentagon). The proof is overwhelming and converges from many independent lines of evidence, but with truthers its never about preponderance of evidence but rather anomalies and what gaps still exist in the evidentiary record.

In addition, the FBI has to go and seize surveillance video from the Gulf Station across the Interstate that could have shown us what hit the Pentagon....

The CITGO video was released years ago, and its the same story with the other videos....its cameras were not pointed anywhere that would have captured an image of the plane. It may have captured an image of the shadow of AA77 but it difficult to tell whether it is an actual image or noise from the video. And how unusual that the FBI "had to go" and obtain that video; its not as if they had an investigation to do or anything.

One could also mention the DEA video which would have had a perfect view of the plane .... if only for the fact that the camera was pointed down at the entrance to the building and showed nothing else but movements of cars and people in front of the building. It was only AFTER the impact that the camera was repositioned to show the Pentagon.

No 757 is capable of flying at 500 mph less than 20 feet off the ground for several hundred yards

The plane only reached that altitude at the last second when it impacted the building (see the first graph here for instance). And ground effect would have been weakest at high speed and a negative angle of attack. Nor is it obvious that it would have hindered rather than helped (such as the plane crashing short of the building without it).

let alone with someone in the pilot's seat who couldn't even fly a Cessna,

Wrong. He had obtained a pilot's license, and had 737 simulator work. That doesn't mean he wasn't a crappy pilot; he was, and this is certainly evident in the wild erratic flying captured in the FDR data. But he certainly had the skills to aim and point the plane at a massive building.

which by the way, would have left more debris than was found there.

How do you know how much debris was found? What source is there that an insufficient amount of debris was found? This seems to be based on some expectation that there should have been a lot of wreckage visible on the lawn on 9/11 when in fact the plane had momentum and ended up inside the building through a 95-foot hole, where it was shredded apart by the forest of columns, had part of the building collapse on it, and burned for most of the day. The only debris that was scattered back onto the lawn (mostly light material) was only carried there by the force of the exposion (you can see this happening in the two gate security videos).

This was a 757 that obviously had no engines because they didn't even put a dent in the wall.

Wow. You clearly show here a thorough unfamiliarity with the most basic facts.

But this "757", on this particular day when the laws of physics were suspended in Washington, Pennsylvania and New York, was capable of creating an almost perfectly round 16-foot hole at ground level

That hole was not the entry but where debris exited into A & E Drive. Debris that was filled with AA77 passenger remains (identified by DNA) and plane debris (visible in photos and video and mentioned by eyewitnesses). What shape should the hole have had? A square? Triangle? Oh I know....a pentagon!!

The hole on the exterior of the building was 95 feet across and damage extended out even farther. The center of this hole goes up to the third floor slab about 18 feet across — certainly large enough for the fuselage. You know what the width of a 757 fuselage is? 12 feet!

penetrating 3 rings and six steel-reinforced concrete walls, leaving another almost identical 16-foot hole as it exited out the C-ring.

Wow. Epic fail here. Beautiful example of what I talked about in the other thread about truthers trotting out errors and misinformation no matter how easy it is to find out the facts, and no matter how many times the errors have been pointed out. Your "facts" are not facts. Those six steel-reinforced concrete walls are a figment of your imagination. They don't exist...they never have existed.

According to the Navy personnel in the building who testified at the 911 Commission "hearings", this 757 ran on cordite which is rocket fuel.

Don Perkal said he was only guessing. He as well as others merely described the odor of the smoke. This was an office fire in a military installation where all sorts of things were burning. Now how do you explain the jet fuel? You know....the black liquid sprayed up all over the limestone exterior of the building at the impact site clearly seen in closeup photos. And I could easily quote many people who described smelling jet fuel. Or survivors whose lungs were damaged by inhaling vaporized jet fuel.

The building didn't even collapse until 20 minutes after the hit, and this was after the firemen were pulled back from the building.

And? How is that possibly suspicious? You can clearly see the facade sagging in many pre-collapse photos. It didn't take a genius to see that it was coming down.

Anybody who is not the slightest bit suspicious of all this must be eating sedatives for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Having seen all the evidence that has been released via FOIA, I find it amusing that in 2011 the crash of AA77 at the Pentagon is still denied by die-hards, or that people think the gubmint was stupid enough to claim a plane crash while using something else entirely (what? a missile?) to crash into the building in full view of thousands witnesses (without knowing if any of them had cameras) when they would have already used a real plane at the WTC mere minutes earlier. Would it have really been that hard to have just crashed a plane into the Pentagon rather than do something asinine like that?
