I hate it when a topic doesn't come together.

Seems like one or the other would be off topic anyway, Mrs. Jones -

Don't know what happened earlier on the opening posts ..... But, a good friend of mine is a tenured university professor of accounting and put this presentatioin together. Lots of charts and graphs not easily found.

Band on the Run
The university should rethink its tenure problem. The Witnesses are proof that you can get take any text and distort it. Excel, Powerpoint and Word all have cool chart and table functions. I used to say absured things as a Witness. My saying them at age 12 was not proof that I was right. Accounting has nothing to do with statistical analysis. I know financial accounting and I know nothing about statistical analysis -- other than it is difficult and one must be rigourously aware of one's own bias. There cannot be a shred of evidence that abortion and America's financial condition are related to each other.
I'd prefer an honest take such as my private religious belief is that abortion is murder. Women should be punished for rape and incest. No one is ever forced by the govt. to have an abortion. We are not China. My mom processed abortion claims. Some women have 15-20 abortions. Evidently, no court will order them to be sterilized. It bothers me greatly. Abortion involves life style choices and autonomy issues.
No one is making this alleged prof have an abortion. Just don't it is the answer. My body belongs to me and not to you. Further, we are not a Christian nation. The Founders went out of their way to preclude a Christian nation. Apples and oranges. One solution to abortion has always been clear to me: the churches who oppose abortion should start teaching men and women, boys and girls, not to engage in unprotected sex. No unprotected sex --almost no abortion. If they don't have the moral power to teach responsibility, why should our govt?

I think the larger point is that he calculates U.S. loan debt at nearly 20 Trillion and and our unfunded obligations as a nation at nearly 100 Trillion. This equates to $800,000 of debt per family. In the span of only 35 to 40 years the United states has descended from the greatest lender nation in the world to the greatest debtor nation in human history.
I think it is appropriate for a believer to search the scriptures for answers. I certainly never made this connection before.
National Blessing from God
Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day. 6For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee. ...... The LORD shall open unto you his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand: and you shall lend unto many nations, and you shall not borrow. 13 And the LORD shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath; if that you hearken unto the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day, to observe and to do them:
National Cursing From God
15 But it shall come to pass, if you will not hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you this day; that all these curses shall come upon you, and overtake you:.... The stranger that is among you shall rise up above you higher and higher; and you shall come down lower and lower..... 44 He shall lend to you, and you shall not lend to him: he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail.

LOL---so I guess we had GOD'S BLESSING before the Roe v Wade decision. Makes perfect sense. The days before the civil rights acts, the days when we threw Japanese Americans into camps. Oooo, and remember the days when women couldn't vote or have property rights? The good old daze when blacks couldn't marry whites. We had GOD'S Blessing then!! Remember slavery? Yeppers, all before Roe V Wade, when we had God's Blessing. Remember how good that was for the economy? When I think about all the child labor we used to benefit from financially, I just KNOW our lord was a blessin' us.
Oh how we prospered after WWII! Before Roe V Wade that is. The GI Bill propelled so many Americans into a glorious middle class---er---make that WHITE Americans cuz then we developed RED LINING. The good old days, when white christian men ruled, and black men that served their country couldn't buy a decent house. God was blessing us. God was blessing ---er---well SOME of us. But it was good. It was good indeed.
Of course there was also a GREAT DEPRESSION before Roe V Wade, but it doesn't fit in with my confirmation bias, therefore I will just dismiss it cuz I KNOW these were the days when God was blessing us cuz we weren't yet killin' all those youngin's. I mean some estimates say that 7 million Americans died due to lack of nutrition, (how does that stack up to the war numbers?) BUT we had God's Blessing then. It's all there in the scriptures.
