Got sidetracked into R&B land, Bobby Womack and Lou Rawls were Sam Cooke's backup singers not Motown guys, although Mary Wells and some other Motown artists covered his songs.
Womack wrote among other songs: Its All Over Now, Woman's Gotta Have It, That's The Way I Feel About Cha, and Across 110th Street, watch the film Jackie Brown with Pam Greer and Samuel Jackson.
I saw Bobby Womack at the Greek Theatre in LA, he was the Opening Act for The O'Jays, 1974.
