Where is Mr Gillies headed next? Could we being seeing him in a few years time moving to America to take up a position as a member of the GB? If and when and he gets the heavenly call, it certainly would be the ultimate accolade in a very busy career.
Any extra bits of information about Paul would be very welcome.

He comes from Haddington in East Lothian Scotland, he has a brother called Gordon who is totally different from Paul. Gordon has a sense of humour, or at least he did when I last spoke to him. I had a long chat with Gordon when I was an elder with doubts about 15 years ago.
Paul always seemed pompous.

I remember seeing his name appear as a Watchtower Representative before the UN NGO Geneva Conferences.

Paul Gillies is seen as a 'safe pair of hands'. An organisation man through and through.

Ya know....it is crap like that that makes me wonder if GB members ever have a sit down discussion with certain individuals (like Mr. Gillies) and say...."boy oh boy.....if ONLY you were one of the annointed! There would sure be a spot on our GB for you!" And then suddenly.....he begins partaking!

If this brother's wife is named Judith ( assuming this is the correct Judith) then as the saying goes - behind every successful man.....

I took the opportunity to record my (anonymous) telephone call to London Bethel when I requested an explanation as to why the Organization was consorting with the OSCE. It was an eye-opener to hear Paul Gillies wriggling and squirming like a politician, trying to avoid answering the question directly.
The upshot was, that when I revealed his evasive answers to my own Witness sister, she cut me off and has not spoken to me for about a year. The truth hurts - and when more truths are revealed, a helluva lot of brothers and sisters are going to be in a state of shock.
Just a little addition; at a recent D/C Paul Gillies described the July 15th 2013 Watchtower as "a landmark edition". I agree 100% with his conclusion, but for very different reasons!

His Mum and Dad were in my old congregation, although I never met him, he was brought up in conversation enough to make me feel as though I had.
If what is said here about him and his brother I can confirm he must take after his mother, whilst Gordon is probably more his father's son.Dour is not the word....
