Preach to the dead, how?
Genesis 30:37-39. This is just totally bizarre. Jacob wanted his herd to have stripes and speckles so what he thought could achieve this was that if he put a sheet with painted patterns in front of the animals when they mate, they will bear offspring with patterns... and guess what?? IT WORKED!! ok... how do they explain that??
Dear jam, it means not literally dead, but spiritually dead. Faith without works is dead.
Genesis 1:1 You think i'm kidding. I don't kid. Ooops! Sometimes I do. But i'm not kidding. I couldn't think of another one that wasn't funny.
Fade-away; I must agree, those veres are strange.
One wonder what is the Bible principal here.
Jam, you have surely come by they way of the WT and the often quoted phrase "the dead know nothing".
However, you won't see them quote it in context of the following verse and the the phrase "under the sun" which runs through the whole book.
New International Version (NIV)
5 For the living know that they will die,
but the dead know nothing;
they have no further reward,
and even their name is forgotten.
6 Their love, their hate
and their jealousy have long since vanished;
never again will they have a part
in anything that happens under the sun.
Understand the phrase and you will see right through the WT lie concerning the dead.
Clearly the WT hot foot over the huge numbers of verses which speak of the dead speaking, them being present with Jesus or else in eternal torement.
Nothing is easy to understand after studying with the WT. You need to wipe the slate clean and start with a new tutor, see John 14

Matthew 24:45 - I still don't know what it really means.
Chalam; Yes, I think you call it deprogram. That,s why
that scripture was hard to understand.
What if you imagine Jaheshua is the slave and the master is Jah? People have misunderstood that verse 48 (the evil slave) has to be someone who was in the same place as the slave in verse 45 but it doesn't say that. Verse 45 asks the question "who?" I think it means we should "get to know" him, not identify him, and verse 48 says that slave like the spirit is pointing in another direction. (we now know it is the one who took over the faithful one's place). http://concordances.org/greek/1565.htm
Indeed, only the WT make Matthew 24:45 confusing.
Strange how they aren't mentioned by Luke in the very same parable, even in their own bible?!
NWT Luke 12:42 And the Lord said: “Who really is the faithful steward, the discreet one, whom his master will appoint over his body of attendants to keep giving them their measure of food supplies at the proper time?
Read both accounts of the parable and the message is clearly has nothing to do with a man made organization but rather an eternal truth regarding the Kingdom of God.
