What is the most embarassing moment you've had while still a JW?

  I never liked being seen in field circus in the area where I used to live. Nor did I like it when I had to read, whether at the door or for the book study, anything that was anti-fornication. Or, doing talks that were blatantly anti-fornication--instead, I would try and develop something that was far more ignored as the theme of the talk. I always thought that such would later be used against me any way they could--as if they needed any further tools to deprive me of the opposite sex.

  Good thing I never had to witless while still in school--it could have been all the worse had I had to witless to classmates or while still in college.

  I have so many to share, but I want to share this story:

  I was attending a law enforcement academy in which a fellow cadet seemed to look really familiar to me. It dawned on me who she was during class when she made a comment to our instructor for the day. He was taking a moment to teach us about how to prepare now for retirement. She made this comment -

  "I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to teach us how to prepare for our retirement. My parents raised me to believe that this system would end before they would retire. Now my parents are of retirement age and they have nothing."

  I remember meeting her about 16 years prior. Her father gave the public talk at my congregation. Low and behold, at our graduation he and his wife were there. He was walking around trying to place the current copies of the magazines with people. I remember the Awake! article was ironically on the topic of law enforcement.

  The worst for me was when I was in field service and I knocked on a door, and the "hot" girl I lusted for at school answered the door. No one really knew I was a JW at school, so when she asked why I was there, I just stammered and made up a lame story...I am sure she figured it out, but she was cool and never made a big deal out of it. I can't remember being more embarrassed in my life.

  Was out in Field Serve-Us and knocked on a door. A drop-dead gorgeous guy comes to the door with only a towel on as he had just gotten out of the shower. I think I told him I was selling pens.......

  Surfing at Pismo Beach with my old best friend when I was 17. We were all done for the day and walked up "1000 Stairs" parking lot where we parked across from some houses, and it was trash day. Tim Thay3r, my friend went over to throw something away in the trash cans across the street and then he came back with a giant stack of porn. He sits in the car and divedes the stack in half and plops half of them on my lap and proceeds to stick his hand down his pants and peruse the mags as if I was going to join him in this little adventure. I was like, "Um, dude, I'm really not into looking at porn and masturbating with other dudes, so can you just take this shit out of my car or stow it for another time?" And he was shocked I didn't want to masturbate with him. I was shocked too. I guess he must have done this with his brother or something and thought of it as normal. But, sorry, i just couldn't get into it. Back to back maybe, but not looking him in the eye or anything. he he

  ok, this happened while i was DF'd but still attending meetings regularly. I was driving this old car that battled to start at times, especially on cold days. So one evening after School and Service meeting my car did'nt want to start, as you can imagine no one is supposed to talk to me since i am DF'd.

  They didn't just leave there in the parking lot alone, they came over and just started helping me without talking.

  I felt so embarassed i missed meetings for the next 6 months, until i bought a new car.
