only me
BOTR- I love your posts. You add a lot to the forum. I think maybe my life is the flip side of yours. I did all the "right" things, skipped the longed for education and career and settled on the marriage to a "mature" brother ... didn't escape till too late for so much that I still long for.
Thank you for your posts, they are always interesting and I love your enthusiasm for life.

Me too! I very much enjoy hearing the history of what actually happened in Bethel as told by what I now consider an insider. I think your stories of your family and their interactions with the Bethel family really lay low the sanitized version the wts wants us to read.
in short, you have some great stories.

No Room For George
I enjoy BOTR's posts too. Very insightful, and most important to me is the historical narative she puts into her thoughts, especially as it concerns an educated woman who bucked the WT's stone age thinking of what a woman is supposed to do with her life.

Band on the Run
My, my, I'm wondering if I need to call 911 because I am psychotic and delusional, seeing what I want to see.
My dad was not an insider, nor were my uncles. They were brawn with access only b/c of the bodguard bit and Bethel was maybe 100 strong. The same with my mom's family. They were just loyal rank and file from Russell's day. Geography helped. Everyone knew everyone. My aunt and mom could jaw for about six hours after any convention with news of people and their entire families. My uncle decided it was unscriptual gossip and banned it. So my so devout and obedient aunt, so in love with him, made scheduled appts with my mom behind his back.
My father was very bright but never educated b/c of the Witnesses. He would have been a great mediating influence. Coming from a coal mining job, he was so devoted to unions. He became an impt union delegate behind the scenes. It was so funny. We all lived in terror of coming across a JW in the real world. Curtains. End of Life.
Knorr, Henschel, Larson, that crew -- were they educated? How do they determine brawn, mind your own business from policy makers?

I'm another person who makes a point of reading everything she has to say. Very unique insight and always interesting.

Every voice here is unique... and adds some value... dear BOTR's included (peace to you, dear one, and peace to you all!). Imagine what this place would be if we all had the same "voice"... mimicked and parrotted the same things... over and over... and over... again. Absolutely NO point in having left the WTBTS, IMHO.
Stick around, dear BOTR. You don't seemed too thin-skinned but if you stick around it's surely prone to get thicker - LOLOL!
Peace!
SA, on her own...

Your friends here will miss you tremendously.
