Even Mormons can become inactive.

  I recall recieving a visit from two young Mormons. These were Elders, and had that title on their lapel badges.

  While discussing a few topics with them, they mentioned that there were approx 10 Million Active Mormons. Then they mentioned something interesting that I didn't know before. I found out that my next door neighbours were Mormons. But, they said that they were inactive.

  I thought that these neighbours were very friendly and decent and honest people, but, here were two young inexperienced ones putting them down. How similar are we?

  There are many similarities. What I wonder though is do they hunt down their inactives looking to disfellowship them? I'm not sure what their disfellowshipping process entails.

  I think they hunt them down, to marry them, at least the younger women. The males are abducted and sent to Utah to answer to the Prophet.

  But, I really am speculating about some of this. I didn't ask the young Elders about that.

  I just did some reading and it was interesting. Their struggle is much like ours, but their church no longer refers to them as "inactive" but now calls them "less active". LOL But you know how a change in language goes, the old phrases persist.

  Remember when we were told the difference between Vindicating Jehovah's name and Sanctifying his name. We weren't suppose to say Vindicate anymore since that is the big J's job. We were supposed to say Sanctify his name, but it took years to catch on.

  So similar it is what was my main trampoline out of ignorance. I read "Escape" by C. Jessop and was struck by the similarities. I know some Mormon's who have had similar shunning and JC experiences too. Very weird.

  LOL---I didn't have lunch with ANYONE yet. LOL I would have lunch with anyone on this board, even the ones I fight with.

  I kept meaning to open the thread, but then, my lazy meeting-free Sunday afternoon called out to me.

  We have a Mormon who posts on the board. I THINK I remember his name (he just posted it a day or two ago) but I'm going to check again before I say for sure.

  we also have a seventh Day adventist who posts occ. As you know, jws roots are adventist.

  I once knew a Mormon couple who became jws. I wondered how bad their life was for jws to be a step up.
