Terry, that day was the shock of my life too, when JFK was shot.

But to anyone under 50, it's no different than reading a history book that says President Lincoln was shot.

The Talmud asks why the human race was created as a single human being, as opposed to creating many people at once.

This teaches us that just as Adam was created in the beginning, and he was the entire human population of the world, likewise we need to look at each individual as if he/she were the entire population of the world. Therefore, when you save one life it is as if you saved the entire world.

    Talmud, Sanhedrin 37a states:

"FOR THIS REASON WAS MAN CREATED ALONE, TO TEACH THEE THAT WHOSOEVER DESTROYS A SINGLE SOUL... SCRIPTURE IMPUTES [GUILT] TO HIM AS THOUGH HE HAD DESTROYED A COMPLETE WORLD; AND WHOSOEVER PRESERVES A SINGLE SOUL..., SCRIPTURE ASCRIBES [MERIT] TO HIM AS THOUGH HE HAD PRESERVED A COMPLETE WORLD."

Compare this to the teaching of Jehovah's Witnesses that only through the death of billions of souls can the elite receive a reward in Paradise by looting the belongings of the deceased!

    What a profoundly execrable philosophy.

Showing any empathy and remorse for a political leader is liken to respecting Satan's ruling earthly organization.

In JWS world this is strongly opposed and deemed objectionable.

Even for a reasonably good man such as JFK.

Any "first" is lauded among the young and Obama is a good example. Kennedy was embraced since he was the first Catholic. It doesn't sound like

much today where we accept such things more easily. But, back in the day, as they say...it was a big deal.

Further, the previous preseidents such as FDR, Truman and Eisenhower seemed so OLD! Kennedy looked youthful and more forward looking for a new generation.
