now i know better but at the time i was taken quite off guard by her question. i thought she was tapping me on the shoulder to ask if i wanted my tuna medium or rare or something like that. lol :D

about five years ago or so i had stopped going to meetings for months and my mother informed me that if i didnt start going again then i probably couldnt be in my sisters wedding. so like a good sister i started going to the meetings and was in her wedding. it turned out to be one of the most boring special occasions i have EVER been to. no dancing. no music. no fun! i wasted months sitting through those boring meetings so i could be a part of her special day. i should have just asked her to send me the video...i use it now when i cant fall asleep at night. haha :D j/k

Sadly that reminds me of a friend of mine who came into the tCrUuLtTh with his mother and two younger sisters about the time he reached adulthood. His father (a very cool guy) and his older brothers did not come in. I remember being in service with this fellow and our book study conductor. He mentioned how he decided not to ask his brother to be in the wedding party, because he was "worldly" and apparently sometimes used some, um, glaucoma medicine. While he was in a convenience store and the book study conductor and I were in the car, the bsc confided in me that he thought it was unfortunate that he felt he had to make that decision, but it was up to him whether to ask his brother to be in the wedding party, and the elders would not interfere either way. I still regret not taking the fellow aside and suggesting that maybe the elders hadn't been as clear with him as this one had with me, and he might live to regret snubbing his brother with no benefit in return. Of course the elder was convinced that he had not unduly influenced the young man. In my opinion the elders and the Society does exercise undue influence almost every time they accept a question and don't answer, "It's none of our business, it's entirely your decision and we really mean it this time, we won't judge you one way or another." Instead, even when they produce viable statistics (a rarity even outside the bOrg), cautionary anecdotes, or solid research on a matter, they allow their ideas and suggestions to have the force of gospel, only to say at the end, "each one makes an informed, personal decision." Sigh.

sounds like fun guys - i'm really sorry my wife and I couldn't make it. I was stuck at my moms house where her holier than thou friends were making rude comments about my too long for JW rules hair....

sorry we never hooked up biggs, i hope your situation turns out OK....i'll be giving badwillie my contact information in Auburn tomorrow, if you ever need an outlet to vent...

Sounds like u americans are cool cucumbers. I can hardly wait to go to an Apostofest. They sound great and I am glad the JW waitress was not a dipsy broad who felt she was better than u guys. I am jealous I want to meet all of you guys. oh well maybe someday.
