Does being a JW and having a felony up your value in the kingdom hall?

Maybe this has been previously been discussed. In my area in the US. It seems that JW men that are felons or have served time seem to have more value. For example, this guy was a jw and got released from prison and the sisters were all talkin about him and what a great marriage mate he would make. I was like what makes him great, what that he can work at mcdonalds for the rest of his life. I always joked that I should say I have a felony or went to prison because it will up my value with the girls, lol. Another time a jw got released from prison. He attended the kingdom hall the first opportunity he got. Everyone acted liked he was the greatest thing ever and he was so important or something. I was nice to him but I realized he had to gain my trust and not automatically be accepted just because hes a jw. I just thought it was naive of some people. I have noticed some sisters go out of there way to help brothers being released from jw only to be burned.

    Any thoughts?

Maybe you should consider dating girls who are outside the JW cult.

probably the same but seemingly safer route as woman who write to felons and develop romantic attatchments...

These guys are probably seen as super spiritual by some demented twist having survived prison or reformed by jehovah's help. First thing he did was head for a KH?...ooo they would be creaming their pants.

I know I am probably putting some of my personal information out there but this is what really gets me, yes I have seen the same thing also, Felons being treated as if they are the top, heres the thing about me, right before I exited the JW religion I was told that I would not be able to be an Elder or Ministeral Servent because I have a whole bunch of unpaid bills from 4 years ago, I was told that I would only be just a publisher but the way it was said it was as if I was lower then the most lowest just because I have a whole ton of unpaid bills and my parents always get phone calls and leaving notes on my doorstep that I am getting sued, also when I left the organization I got a phone call telling me see what happens when you leave you get sued, I tired telling my dad that either way if I am in the borg or out of the borg all my past is catching up, the other thing is you can't reason with any of those JW's they just don't understand that the money I make is low income and I only have enough to pay rent to have a roof over my head, and take care of other bills such as car insurance, phone bill, most of the time it all goes with a little left over for spending but not much, just can't reason with the JW's at all they only take sides with the ones who are in such as the ones who have done the most worst of the worst.

Is that why there are so many publicized major crimes committed by the witlesses? True, many witlesses develop traits (no money, stagnation) that lead to major crimes being committed. And true, many people have problems that lead them to major crimes (prisons, mental institutions) that either lead them to becoming witlesses (acceptance) or that lead the witlesses to them.

But, if there is even one incident where someone committed a major crime (like eating a baby) to impress other members of the religion, and it actually works (without backfiring--having them disfellowshipped and blown into the major secular authorities), all the more reason to shame the religion.

I hate to say it, but the OP is correct.

I spent the majority of my time in the evil empire in a congregation that had 2 state prisons in it's territory. There were about 20 to 30 publishers listed on our congregation roster who were inmates in those prisons. Some were Witnesses prior to their conviction and some joined while in prison.

First, the elders who regularly went out to the prisons to conduct meetings (sometimes doing so instead of taking care of their own bookstudy groups) would often use these convicted murderes, robbers, and rapists as examples to the congregation. It was as if these "brothers" were enduring due to The Truth. It always made me feel really good knowing my bookstudy overseer let us fend for ourselves so he could go conduct the bookstudy at the prison.

Second, I was floored on how many sisters married these inmate "brothers" BEFORE the were even released. There was a 30 year old "brother" who robbed a bank and got 10 years. He was disfellowshippend and reinstated his first year in. Then, a 19 year old daughter of an elder marries him. There's nothing quite like spending the first 9 years of your marriage with your spouse in prison.

This was yet another reason why I had to wash my hands of the evil empire.

The simplest answer is that they were attractive.

2 rules to remember if you want to attract the girls:

    • Be attractive.
    • Don't be unattractive.

Of course money can make up for deficiencies in one or both areas.
