I still say it might be a good idea to figure out concrete, transferable skills from door to door service. Actually, I can't think of one but I'm not creative. Unless it is a religious employer (the WTBTS), it is poison. Sadly, a lot of it is the culty, minority religion part. When I worked for a large Wall St law firm, they knew I was Episcopal, knew the churches, and helped me socially. I suppose you have to know the circumstances. Most people don't think well of the Witnesses. It annoys me a bit b/c the rank and file JWs can be fine people. Public speaking -- if you can actually do it.
Your employer should only know what they are legally allowed to ask you. Questions of religion, marriage, children cannot be asked. It doesn't make sense to volunteer the info to shoot yourself in the foot. When I applied for jobs, I was told that merely posting a photo was absolutely forbidden and would be cause to not be considered.
It remind me of that Disney polyanna film where Hayley Mills always found something too sunny in everything.
