It is not a lie. I really am NOT scared of death.

I don't want to die painfully or slowly and would hate to suffer a degenerative disease, but the thought that my life will end is not at all worrying. It is an inevitability and will take me to where I was before I was born, non-existence. What is there to be scsared of?

I'm not afraid of dying, I just don't want to be there when it happens.

True, many people just don't know how to die.

But my grandfather knew how to die. Yes sir! He died quietly and peacefully in his sleep....not like the others in his car who went kicking and screaming as they drove over the cliff.

    OK, enough comic relief.

It is interesting that David feared death...at least premature death anyway. And actually, so did Jesus Christ...but not necessarily death itself...but the cup that was associated with it.

Like other, i can truly say i dont "fear" death. I want to live, i love life and hope/feel i have lots more to accomplish, but my life in the cult has ingrained in me the feeling that is no biggie. Maybe as i grow more free i will change, but for now, to die would be the greatest adventure :-)

(kinda like heights.... Its not the fall im afraid of its the landing ;-)

Everybody tells it . . . at least once . . . many even come to believe themselves. I am not afraid of death

It's hard to think about! Actually being dead. What a trip.

There are moments in life where death doesn't matter, however, like when trying to save your child's life or when on the battlefield. Death though, not a good thought.

At a conference on religion a priest, a minister and a rabbi were all asked the same question, "What would you like people to say about you after you die?"
The priest said, "I hope that people will say that I was able to rise above the scandals that are plaguing the Catholic Church at this time. I hope that people would say that I was able to shepherd my flock through this crisis and help them to understand the absolute love that God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit have for all of them as Catholics."
The minister then said, "When I die I hope that people will say that I saved many souls by bringing them to Christ. I hope that I will be remembered as a caring, thoughtful man who always spread the Word, the love of Christ and a faith everlasting in God. I hope that my preaching and converting will be carried on in my memory and to the glory of Christ."
Finally, the rabbi was asked, "Rabbi, what do you hope people will say about you after you have died?"
Without pausing, the rabbi answered, "Look at the casket. He's breathing!

When people come to believe it about themselves, it is certainly no longer a lie.

I think the biggest lie ever told was:

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."

I think one of the best sayings about this subject is:

"Everyone wants to go to Heaven...but nobody wants to die to get there!"
