Interesting. The creative day, their basis for 1914, is no longer quoted.

I've never really fully understood the whole 1975 debacle. In hindsight, it seems to me that they were being intellectually dishonest from the very beginning. The closest thing I can compare it to would be those sweepstakes junk mail I often receive in the mail. Printed prominently and in bold ink, it goes "[Your Name Here] will win Ten Million Dollars!" That's what it says through the window of the envelope, but should you choose to read the small print above it, it would say "If you have the winning numbers. then...". Really? If I have the winning numbers I will win 10 million dollars? No shit. 1975 seems to me the same type of deception. The focal point on the entire article would say either "1975" or "mid 70's". But when reading the context that it's put in, the Society gets away with never actually saying for certain that Armageddon would come in the Fall of 1975. If anything, they were involved in blasphemy since they were pretty much telling God what he should do come 1975. Then when the date comes and goes, they go into this convoluted reasoning regarding the creation of Eve. Given that Adam lived some 900 years plus according the to Old Testament, it wouldn't be too far off the mark to say that he had to wait 50 or 100 years for Eve to come around. All Genesis says is that his third son Seth came when Adam was 130 years old. All the rest is speculation. But it wouldn't surprise me that if directly confronted with the 1975 prediction, the GB would bring up the whole Eve thing. That would give them roughly until 2075 if Cain and Abel were in their 20's when it happened, and Eve gave birth to Cain only a few years after being created. It just shows how much you can play around with Biblical verses that omit certain details.

    Nobody understands.

You cannot understand what is nonsense.

But, JW's fell back upon their FAITH and LOYALTY.

The brain is unnecessary in Jehovah's Organization.

How many remmember the "Make Sure" book? I think many of the loyal Dubs were instructed to throw them out. You will not find it their library!

Look up the chapter: Chronology in this book and make copies of it to past out to new Dubs. Watch their expession!

At the time I appeared before the Draft Board trying to get a deferment I had a Make Sure glued to the inside of my bible cover.

The SUPERIOR AUTHORITIES interpretation was already "wrong" when I was using the "old light" argument to the board members!

The fact was, no announcement was made at any meeting that: "Oops! we no longer believe this well-reasoned, revealed argument because the correct interpretation is THE SAME AS CHRISTENDOM now!"

For those who do not remember...

JW's use to teach that Jehovah and Jesus were the Superior authorities appointed by god in Roman's 13 rather than the obvious leaders of governments.
