I never found it objectionable to be rich (unless you get that way by bullying out legitimate alternatives, running scam operations, robbing banks and people, or are otherwise usurping value from people.
In fact, people that get rich by starting their own honest businesses cannot do so without creating opportunities for others. No matter what business I start, if I am to get very rich, I am going to have to provide others with opportunities to improve their own lives. Usually, this comes from jobs. I know I cannot do enough on my own to make myself rich--even a trade like repairing computers. If I work alone, I might be able to repair 8-12 computers per day and make roughly $750 per day before expenses. By hiring others, I give others the opportunity to make more than what they were making before, plus I get to grow bigger. And, I might even be able to figure out why computers are so prone to problems, develop new software that will catch Microsoft and Apple with their pants down, and create more wealth. Then it will take literally thousands of employees to spread the product around the world. I get very rich, but I create opportunities for thousands in the process.
At the same time, I create a new product. Once I create a software platform that addresses what Apple and Microsoft are both ignoring, people are now willing to buy my product instead of theirs. They have less down time, fewer repairs for software issues, and they themselves are more productive. If it reaches Third World countries, it could solve their problems with bad bandwidth and bootleg software. This in turn forces Microsoft and Apple to start actually addressing their problems, or go out of business. In turn, anyone that puts out crap software is put on notice that, unless they improve their products, they are next. Products become more reliable, downtime is less common, and businesses are able to put out more without worrying about running into the limits of their software. Everyone wins--except the big companies that refuse to improve their products.
Now, suppose that, instead, I gave it all up and pious-sneer. I move where the "need" is greater, and get the whole of many African countries into the cancer. I progress and get every single one of the Muslim countries into the cancer, and go on and get China and India into the cancer. What real value does that create? How does that make people better off? I give up riches, not just for myself but for all those who no longer have the opportunity to work with and spread my new super products. Businesses still struggle with software crashes and inefficiencies, and the big companies get away with selling rubbish. Yet, the Kingdumb message is spread into countries where it otherwise would have missed--on obsolete equipment.
Given that it is impossible, due to human limitations, to get very rich the honest way and not create opportunities for others to improve their lots in life, the Washtowel urging people to sell out and pious-sneer is every bit as bad for the witlesses as Osama Obama's policies. And, if just one person takes this article seriously and we lose a new computer platform, or better yet a cure for all diseases along with putting the Rockefeller Allopathic Medicine system permanently where it belongs (out of business, except in emergency and trauma treatment), it is going to be even worse. When we hold back people that would develop products that would bring society to higher levels, we hold back society at the same time.
By all means, go for wealth. Go for starting that business you always wanted--even if you have to expatriate to do it. So long as you are honest, you can only create opportunities for others, put upward pressure on wages, and bring up the standard of living for everyone. Which is more than can be said for being a pious-sneer or going to Beth Hell.
