  .....and that's why these conversations are in vain. Even if you win, they will just say, "meh, it's still the truth." It's the equivalent of a "I know you are, but what am I?" argument. I hope maybe something sunk in because it sure doesn't sound like it.

  Don't let them hide by not addressing the biblical evidence, which is powerful. You're absolutely right. They wave around a couple of convenient articles, but no one can argue them adequately, few see the glaring holes in their theories. They have no idea what those articles are trying to prove, which they can't. The problem with the JWs is that even though they claim to weigh all the evidence, they don't; all they care about is finding one source, one citation, one tiny argument however meager that supports their views, no matter how ridiculous. And that's why they don't want anyone pursuing higher education; it teaches you to think objectively. All JWs care about is having something in print. It comforts them.

  I encourage everyone to read Jonsson's two papers recently finished completely discrediting the JWs on this.

  I understand, but your pain, frustration, time and effort is nothing more than a diversion from real life, love and your family. How often do you sit pondering why the imperial guard didn't just shoot the escape pod to be on the safe side...... Probably never... Because it doesn't matter. 607 bce and 1914 are as significant as a pigs fart in a tornado. None of its true, you will never reach satisfaction. As for convincing others.... Well I think Batman is awesome, my mate thinks spidey is. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter that he's wrong.... Cos I'm right ;)

  What a classic cop out! ''uhhhhh....Jerimiah was a dumb schmuck who never did learn to count.... maybe he was dislexic and got his numbers all sort of jumbled you know''...

  somehow he obviously wasn't educated enough to put down the correct dates for the Watchtower to use milleniums later.

  regarding paying to much attention to details...imagine if someone said this about ANYTHING else of serious consequence. they would lose their job, be disbarred, have their medical license stripped, etc. but supposedly the thing that you should do which supersedes the importance of all these afore mentioned things, does not require at the very least the same attention to detail? you are possibly sending millions to their death, and your best retort is, 'well you just think you're so hot with all your fancy details' ?

  You know, my wife has been told that also, that "she thinks too much". They say it as if it's a bad thing to use your brain! They also like to say "you're too smart for your own good." They think that's an insult, but I would take that as a compliment.
