I didn't get to see LOTR in the movie theater so I'm very eager to see The Hobbit.

BTW...two thumbs up.
Of course, I'm worried that the average moviegoer who hasn't read Tolkien won't be as taken by the history and flashbacks. I saw this in 48 fps and while it was neat seeing something new, I believe I enjoyed it better in 24 fps. At times, 48 fps made me feel like I was on the set rather than being immersed in the story.

It was awesome! Saw it in 3D - 48fps. A couple of times items come hurling at the audience... and I jumped. I am not usually like that in a normal movie. Love the Brown Wizard and his sled ... the shaggy horses. Smaug and the Eagles... amazing.

Just come back from 3D 48fps, absolutely brilliant.

Is it worth sitting for nearly three hours? I'd like to go see it, but that seems like a long time.

That's a subjective question. It depends on the person. For me, it was worth it. I've seen it twice and I don't watch just any movie that comes to the theater.
Did you like Lord of the Rings?
