Imagine a room in "heaven" with Pastor Russell, J.F.Rutherford, Nathan Knorr arguing over doctrines! They didn't believe the same things!!

Then, Freddy walks in and they all realize he was behind most of it!!

8.Jesus died to give Everlasting Life. You have to be willing to DIE for that. DIE to live. Allow your loved ones...even your children to DIE to live. LIFE is cheap and unimportant ..until you DIE for it.

That's a variant on what my dad used to tell us during our family study when I was a kid in the 60s and 70s. He'd bring up accounts of brothers who went to prison rather than renounce their faith and he constantly told us we'd better be prepared to go to prison if we wanted to please Jehovah. I always had the feeling the cops would be by any minute to arrest us. He never made family study an enjoyable time, ever.

I would correct #1. No matter what you do is sufficient to be saved. You don't get by day by day. Failure is ever present. Coupled with the failure, anxiety concerning lack of grace from God causes tremendous existential stress. I never felt suficient for the day any single day of my life.

1.You cannot do enough to demonstrate your merit or value. Giving your ALL each and every day only gets you through THAT one day.

Yep...it's true. After a lifetime as a Witness and serving at Bethel, none of it matters now that we've left. As far as JW's are concerned....none of it will be remembered by Jehovah....we're doomed. I get the sense from some of them that if there is to be a "New System" they'd be really pissed off if they saw me walking down the street.

Thinking is a private process. To think by yourself and reflect on what is important to YOU is your conscience.

But, if another voice takes over and shuts your own individual thoughts down---how can you be said to possess a conscience at all?
