Hey flipper! Although my mid-2009 cult exit was very traumatic as a 3rd generation born-in, I had already been building a new identity for 3½ years prior. I had a sense of passing through very distinct and typical stages in the journey, but was too embattled, driven and exhausted to be able to identify and record. There were intense dreams, but I did not record and cannot recall. I have invested a lot in finding spiritual and psychological stability. Exercise has also helped improve sleeping patterns - maybe that is why at this point I am not aware of my dreams. The next stage typically is recovering career wise and financially.

Thanks for all your comments and observations ! In the dream where I rescue my older daughter out of the river- I'm thinking it represents saving her and freeing her from the JW cult. As her brother and myself are thrilled she survives. Kind of the meaning I had from the dream.

FOUND SHEEP- Yeah, I agree with you. I think it is our subconscious thoughts trying to make sense of the JW experience. So you've had the dreams as well ? Pretty interesting. That's a pretty cool dream of you dressed up in an angel costume at Halloween and attending a JW convention in it ! LOL ! Can you imagine the reaction you'd get if you did that in real life ? It would be really hysterical. I could just see the attendants trying to usher you out claiming you were apostate ! Pretty funny stuff.

FERNANDO- I can certainly understand being exhausted from working hard in exiting the Witnesses. It's a physically, emotionally, and mentally draining experience - to say the least. Many of us here have been there, experienced that. It sounds as if your dreams may have assisted you in your psychological and spiritual finding of yourself exiting the cult. As you mentioned exercise is important to stay active in as well as now we actually have the time to pursue bettering ourselves financially in our careers. Even though the economy is tough- at least we don't have to worry about attending meetings or going in field service which wasted hundreds and hundreds of hours over the years. I wish you the best for 2012 ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper
