When I was there at WT Farm in the 70s I knew 2 brothers who were involved in the heavy equipment dept. They dug graves at the cemetary and I recall them saying they buried many other things including drums. In fact, the farm had their own junkyard where a brother who was demoted due to attitude was in charge. I also knew the brother in charge of the water reseviour and waste treatment plant. I even fished a couple of times in the lake (man-made). The watertower stored the water from the lake (warm in the summer). Just think about the cancer causing chemicals that were spread out and then leached into the soil and then into groundwater. They had to have kept records / samples for all those years. If they destroyed them or hide them it will be bigtime corruption. Everyone who has or had health problems needs to be screened and documented on cancer and other illness.
I can't believe how stupid this all is and shameful, just to save face and cash. Admit how you have wronged, repent and face the criminal consequences.

I don't mean to criticize but do you have any hard proof that the dumping was secretive. The allegations are very serious. I was asked to coordinate all the superfund toxic waste concerns for clients of a major firm. Circumstances intervene but it was the first time I ever felt I had to say no to a request. I have not read the news articles. I don't know what NY required or the EPA at that point in time. It appears that the cleanup could be a minor expense compared to possible tort actions from people who became ill or died as a result.
Hardly anyone will survive Armageddon so pillage the earth. If only A. would arrive, it would be ok but it never arrives. When I was a kid, I feared it would happen the next second. They don't seem to have any ethical or community ties common to most humans. The Bethelites I knew would welcome any chance to screw this sytem of things and the "world."

I asked a Walkill bethelite about this recently and he said thiis was an underground storage tank that started to leak. It had to go through a mitigation process to be cleaned up. Maybe he didn't want to tell me, an outsider, all the details, but that is what he said.
