    Lurk,

Euphemistically speaking, you're right. Virtually all the Jdub apologists use the typical illogical defenses of their beliefs which they acquired by rote from the FDS and writing department. So as far as using any modicum of logic, minced beef is about the best they can conjure up. But then, better minced beef than pickled herring!

    cheers,

Hi happy, I am a jw also. Baptized nearly 29 yrs. I'm not sure if that makes me a lucky guy or not.

I come here for various reasons, one of which is to read up on subject matter that is almost never discussed among active jws for fear of reprisal, or at the very least for fear of appearing "spiritually weak", or appearing to have a "bad attitude".

Sometimes, I think we have not come all that far at all from the days of the mid-century Inquisitions.

Happy Man, it's not about expressing what you think...it's saying things that are not true. Like "Jehovah's Witnesses are the only ones who refuse war and die for it,". What an insult to all of those hundreds, maybe even thousands, who died under Hitler's regime for refusal to bear arms. Catholics, Protestants, Shakers, Quakers and Mennonites, Armstongs, Russelites...the list is horrendous.

Such statements will NOT go unanswered on a discussion board like this, JUST SO YOU KNOW. And just because you bakpedaled your sorry behind and said..."Oh it was just my opinion" IS NOT GOING TO HELP YOU.

You, and Fredhall, and NYTelefake, and You Know have yet to submit proof that any of you are Jehovah's Witnesses, or for that matter ever were. Not a shred of evidence have you produced toward that end. In fact, when someone comes to the board, you people are the LAST ones to be able to answer correctly, IF AT ALL, questions about current watchtower doctrine.

If a Jehovah's Witness comes here and cannot find support for their Watchtower membership and support, you people named above and others like you have no one to blame but yourselves. That 'zero or negative growth in over 70 countries' will double by next year, if it depended on you people.

So just keep at it, y'all. We thanks ya!!!!!!!

In 1975 a crack team of publishers was sentenced to death by a judicial commiteee. They promptly escaped from the cult and now live life on the run. If you have a problem ... and if you can find them ... maybe you can contact the A--postate Team"

Yes, I'm a JW. For the next few weeks anyway. The elders asked me a few months ago why I quit going out in service. I told them the truth. I don't think JWs have the truth. They said they will DF me. So talk to me while you still can, all you faithful Jws. Oh, I forgot. For people like Fred and Happy Man, the rules don't apply. They'll still talk to me even after I'm DF. Hurray!!! And I was afraid I'd lose all my JW friends!

Not so many JWs....surprising when you think they have God and God's son on their side, Gods spirit, loads of anointed...in fact increasing number, myriads of angels that are directing the good news....and on the other side there is us!

    Hey Happy Man,

Ashi says, “I think there's seven or eight 'loyalists' who are regular posters”,

DB says, “I come here for various reasons, one of which is to read up on subject matter that is almost never discussed among active jws for fear of reprisal, or at the very least for fear of appearing "spiritually weak", or appearing to have a "bad attitude".

I agree with DB but I have to disagree with you Ashi.

Ones that post here are not loyal to the WTS. They are just like me, fed up with the hipocrisy and lack of love. I came in here to find answers to why, why, why. I needed closure to this crazy organizational control and brainwashing. Now I feel empowered. If I had not found this Forum, I would still feel lost and powerless under the mighty hand of the WT.
When I first came in I was angry with the WT and so I struck back at you guys, just like some new ones do when they first come in. You want to be loyal and your heart tugs at your conscience because you were taught those places like this is bad and can corrupt your WT training. So you have to kick somebody and it can’t be the WTS because they are not the problem,”you are”. And so you came in here to maybe find other JWs that secretly came on to the Internet to see if they had their buts kicked. Then you could cry together.
But “oh my God”, you have actually stumbled on an “Apostate Site”. So now you take all of your anger out on them. They fight back and that makes you feel righteous and strong, unlike the feelings that you are getting at your local Kingdom Hall at this time. Been there, done that.
Stick around my friend. At least you will be heard here, no matter what you say. And you don’t have to worry about being controlled. And most of all you will learn the real face behind the WTS.

I think you are very brave to be here in the first place...knowing how the organisation views web sites such as this. I also commend all of the JW's who admit to being a witness....it takes a fair bit of courage to say so on a forum such as this.

I'm rather new to this forum myself...but I get the feeling that some of you (JW) just like to argue the point...rather then actually try and convert our way of thinking...but if you are counting time for it...then good on ya! You will find a lot of ex witnesses like me...have been 'wronged' in some way or another...either by the organisation itself...the elders....or members of the congregation. I am here because it comforts me to know that there are other ex witnesses out there who come from a similar background to mine...and who have experienced the same 'wrongs' that I did. Some are angry...some are bitter...some are defensive...but keep in mind that we have all been 'wronged' in different ways or to different degrees.

Happyman...I think you and Fred Hall and other JW's provide a colourful aspect to this forum...and I enjoy reading everyone's views on things. I don't always agree with the reactions...but sometimes it is provoked!

I hope you enjoy the feedback and the comments shared with one and all.

    Beck
