I think Paul was having A difficult time in keeping those
desires in check. In vs. 23 he speaks about sin which
dwell in my members. I may be wrong in my assumption.

yes it did dwell bigger in his member.
I don't think so. It could be I suppose, but there is nothing to say that it is. Sin dwelling in your flesh could be any number of things. Could be pride, could be anger, could be lack of forgiveness or lack of mercy, could be all sorts of things.

Tammy
And for what? Where did Jesus say that it was necessary to repress one's sexual desires? Yet, Paul put more rubbish in the name of Jesus that sex equates with sin. And who was it that said that gay people need to repress their sex drives? Paul! From what I have seen, Jesus didn't seem to be that worried about it. In fact, Jesus was more worried about those who intentionally added unnecessary rules to the doctrine than anything else.
And yet, there is the question of whether Paul was a closet homosexual himself. Not that I have proof, but the question is there.
Paul was a master debator.
Think About It
Yes Wtwizard, I saw that also,( Paul A closet Homosexual).
Could that be A reason why he struggle with his desires.
When you mention sin of the flesh the first thing that come
to my mind is, sexual desires.
Jam, I think you're right. If Paul was normal (and he was unmarried), sexual desires would be one of the things he was struggling with. It's natural, is it not? Here have freedom of speech. I speak of personal experience.
vidqun; Was it not Paul who encourage ones to remain single,
you can serve God whole soul. Remind me of the pitch they give
for those to serve at the Branch office in NY.
My God, if Paul had told me the struggles he was going thru
and taking into account his age, why would anyone choose
that way of life.
Was Paul the Ted Hazzard of his day.
Jam, if Paul became a eunuch, then he might have referred to something else. But I don't think so. Paul also said if you burn with passion, you better get married. But some have remarked that he might have been married somewhere along the line, and that his wife gave him a hard time. That's where the "tribulation in the flesh" comes in. So depending on the person that reads his letters, I think you'll get a different answer every time. A woman reading his letter will say he was sexist. A man will say he was practical. Of course the Watchtower will put their own spin on it.
