Didn't Jesus tell the Pharisees they were sitting on the seat of Moses? Well, the GB are sitting in the seat of Jesus.

I don't know if I said this on another thread or not, but this utterly sickens me.

We need to start our own Club and have Capes, Mitres, and Staffs, nothing says power like a High Priest

In regards to the generation teaching they are being told that it might not be clear to them but they just have to make some sense out of it rather than thinking there might be yet another change. Sounds more like they are trying to convince themselves that it is right rather than trying to think of some more plausible explanation.

Isn't is ironic how they equate unquestioning obedience to themsleves as a mark of humility.

Yeah, but look at this, from page 11:
Likewise today, how do
we react if we encounter a point in our
Christian publications from “the faithful
steward” that is hard to understand
or that does not match with our thinking?
Then this, from page 30:
Have you ever studied something
in our literature that seems to have
been written just for you? Accept the
correction as coming from Jehovah.
Well, which is it? Who writes the friggin' washtowel anyway? Jehovah or the 'faithful steward'?

Very true. The Governing Body is accountable to precisely no one, since they can write whatever they like and pretend it's from God. Yet they demand humility from everyone but themselves. The only thing stopping them is fire coming down out of heaven and consuming Columbia Heights on a Wednesday afternoon, but that ain't gonna happen - so it's open season. "Just keep writing boys!" They can claim as much or as little authority as they like, and nobody's the wiser.
transhuman68 - you're right, this article is full of not-so-subtle suggestions that what they write is inspired by Jehovah without actually going so far as saying it. I wish they could have some balls, and (if they want people to believe that) just say it openly rather than hinting at it all the time!
