I got all of my credit scores yesterday and it turns out I have a low credit score because I have almost no debt and haven't had a credit card in years.
I need to get a card to build some debt and all that good stuff. Should I go for miles, cashback, something else?
Miles is the best value. If you travel go with miles. I have never had a cash back card. But money is my husband's business. I control my spending so if I was on my own, I think I'd go with the cash back and charge everything. I pay my balance each month.
I was thinking miles, but I travel enough for work to be platinum on two airlines and two separate hotels. But more miles never hurt...

When Americans first starting taking business and recreation trips to China, they spoke of the utter filth and foodborne illness. Several people said that about 1/3 of the tour group came down with severe respiratory illnesses that lasted for at least six months. I no longer hear such comments. Has it changed? I expect with industrialization, China's standards have increased.
What you are saying is you need to get into debt to prove you can get into more debt.
Unless you have been bankrupt, borrowing money is based on your ability to repay, ie; your income and expenses.
My suggestion is to stay away from all bad debt. Any debt that does not result in an appreciating asset is bad debt.
Credit card? bad debt
New car? bad debt
mortgage? good debt
new Plasma? bad debt
rent to buy? bad debt
buy now pay later? bad debt
holiday? bad debt.

We've used miles to go to Europe, Hawaii, and across the States. We currently have enough to do it all again at least once. We make big purchases on the card, and then pay it off immediately. We both have top credit ratings.
Maybe something that pays rewards in free drinks, you fucking alcoholic? Now stop avoiding the question; has China changed?
