how bout stop looking for signs, and start looking for facts.

fact 1 = jw's preach the UN is the great dragon (i can't remember their official terminology, but something along the lines of great dragon)

fact 2 = jw's sign as NGO with UN, swearing to uphold the charter of the UN....

stick to the facts in life, and your path will be made much clearer, void of mind controlling cults.

    Hey all!

    Thanks for your replies!

I actually meant for this to be more of a humorous post, oops! I know it was just a coincidence ... If I believed it was anything more than that, we would have rushed to get to the meeting, haha.

It was just one of those "are you kidding me?!" moments.

Some friends of mine (from the UK) went to NY for a short holiday. While there they 'bumped' into someone from their congregation. Good job they weren't asking for a sign.. LOL

You mean like that time I told my boss I was sick but I was really going fishing and we ran into each other at Bass Pro Shop?

Watchtower programming will make us feel guilty while skipping a meeting if we run into JW's.

It's a sign that they are a dangerous mind-control cult.

My mother "KNOWS" that Jehovah's Witnesses are the true religion because "Jehovah" specifically answered two of her prayers. I won't bog you down with the details, but I gave her totally rational explanations for her two answers that didn't involve God and she rejected them because she just "KNEW."

Is it a sign from God?

    No.

It is guilt as a result of being part of a high-control group playing with your emotions.

If you had planned on going to the meeting all along and did, would that brother still have eaten his lunch at that grocery store? Yes.

If you had not gone to the grocery story, but gone to the movies, would that brother have eaten his lunch at the movie theater? No.

Don't read into things that are not there.

Your mum is very different from me OTWO, I prayed sincerely for direction when I had just stopped going, I felt lost, didn't know what to do.

The very next knock on the door was from a JW coming to encourage me back.

I should have interpreted it the way your mum did, and ended up a Circuit Assembly experience, but as the JW was unable to answer my questions, I just knew it was coincidence.

Some time later I prayed again, in the way a christian told me to, ....... nothing , zilch, tumbleweed silence.

I 'spose its a good job a JW didn't knock on the door just after that session !

A sign from God? How 'bout a sign from the Devil?

When I was in 5th grade, I wanted to develop my 'psychic' powers. I tried to move my pen with my mind and I was staring at it for minutes. I was concentrating sooo hard, focusing mentally on where I wanted the pen to move looking, concentrating, looking..... BAM!

The pen pops-up! I was freaked out! Did I really have psychic powers? Was it true? Could I also develop mind reading powers? I realized something I hadn't noticed before. My pen was on top of my notebook. The notebook was slightly indented downwards. It was the notebook that did the popping-up.

What a disappointment. And yet, that's how detectives solve crimes. Through the laws of physics and nature. In this case, it was mere coincidence and it makes for a good anecdote.
