I'm not sure what a university education can give me except a certification confirming that I've learnt something. The information is more important than the certification to me at the moment. What do you think?
It tells your potential employer that you undergone the necessary training/education to learn what your co-competitors for the job, have learnt.
The process of studying for a Dip/BA also teaches you to analyse information objectively. It sounds like you do this already, so attending a college or uni shouldn't be too troublesome for you.
