It's clear people did like Shelby as a person, but I have to say the blatantly insane religious views are not missed by me in any way.
Where did AGuest - and others - go?

I'm sure she's a nice person in real life, but if a friend or family member posted what she does, I'd be concerned for their sanity.

Please, there are rules of engagement you know, ;)
She's a wonderful person, of this I have no doubt. I don't hide the fact I disagree with her beliefs and have challenged them but were I to come across her in everyday life not knowing what I know of her beliefs (as is usually the case with most people you meet) we'd likely get along fine. So I try to remember that here. However, this is a battlefield of ideas at times, so when in Rome....;)
LittleToe was well spoken and had good debate from what I recall. PSac reminds me of him.
FunkyDerek and Abaddon were formidable in the arena of debate. Opened my mind a bit.
Tetrapod had a gift for words. OpenFireGlass was cool (no pun intended)
Sparkplug was a hoot. Spaznik was thoughtful and unique. Dansk and J-ex-W, may you rest in peace.
Others that don't come to mind immediately who've come and gone, live long and prosper :)

Nickolas
A hypothetical. At some point or another someone trying to escape the Watchtower paradigm completely might come to realise that escaping JWN represents the end of the process. Letting go is always difficult but always necessary. This is a great place to land once you finally come to understand the truth about the Truth. Lots of support and insights here, but still lots of residual irrationality amongst its denizens. How could it be otherwise? Things end. At some point you may just decide it is time to move on.

I was thinking about restrangled recently, for some reason. Gee, she loved her garden! So many good people have left; we can only hope that they are o.k...

Nickolas speaks a truth.
Yea, restrangled. Loved her dogs too.
I'm sure they're all fine, just moving on...

Band on the Run
One of the things that attracted me to the forum (and sometimes also repels me) is the disparateness of everyone. There are true old timers but new people come in almost daily. The age range seems broad as does the gender break down.
I want to move on. This site is addictive. On the other hand, I've learned so much about myself from particpating here. I equated the Witnesses with a gruesome childhood with few pleasures, beatings, silly, embarassing doctrine and poverty. Poverty. I'm not talking about KHs not getting landmark status. I hated them since I was conscious. Sitting through meetings at two and three was sheer torture. The Witnesses exposed me to low lives-altho, for the moment, they were decent, moral people. Most were disfellowship for immorality. Armageddon, earthquakes, and demons dominated my child life.
Now I see the cult aspects more clearly. It was strange, not having contact for decades, and being reexposed to the WT lit. Now I have some exposure to normal. I can do research to find out truth.
I don't want to be here much longer. My personal battle. I would like to visit every few months. Hopefully, I will get back on my feet after illness and rejoin the world. In the end, though, the Witnesses were such a huge part of my life. They shaped me or the hatred of them shaped me.
