just one question, "becoming" an Atheist ? children are not born with a belief in God, so don't do all the silly stufff in the answer above, and they will remain an Atheist, as they were born.

This formula doesn't seem to work with a lot of brilliant thinkers who are exposed to logic, science, and critical thinking and still manage to believe in God.
I am thinking of such people as Einstein, Thaxton, Planck, Kelvin, Mendel, Faraday, Carver, Joule, Boyle, Newton, Leibnitz, Pascal, Descartes, Gauss, Euler, Galileo, Kepler, Bacon, and Copernicus.

This is both insulting to believers and non believers. Thank goodness not all believers behave in such an extreme way while raising children. Besides, the answer could push a child either way: belief to the extreme or atheism and then there's the "I just don't knowism".
