I CRINGE to think that in all likelihood I would have let my loved ones die when i was a witness.I shudder to reflect on it.

Thank you Marvin for providing this info.

You've heard of staunch Catholics. Well, I have a friend who is a staunch and loyal JW whose medical issues are ARBC related. His doctor tells him that he'd better get his affairs in order because he is that close to death's door. And unless he gives his doctor some leeway, he's going to meet his maker sooner than he thinks. This friend is all the more determined to stay the course!

It is indeed sad to see worshipers of Jah the WTBTS needlessly throw their lives away, especially when it is related to this witless and senseless blood doctrine.

So, Marvin, soon no doubt you'll be adding one more death massacre to the list.

    sizemik,

Watching the carnage is, as you say, a harrowing experience. I’m so glad to hear your close encounter ended on the life side of the equation.

You make an excellent observation that capable staff were a very influential factor in your wife’s survival. It is valiant and brave medical professionals that are responsible for lessening the deaths among Jehovah’s Witnesses. It is not, as Watchtower would have Witnesses believe, the biblical mandate to abstain from blood that in the end is saving lives. From a perspective of “danger” blood is just another biological tissue (i.e., allogeneic, autogeneic or xenogeneic). It is no more or less dangerous than any other biological tissue which according to their own doctrine Witnesses can partake of aplenty!

    smiddy,

    You are most welcome.

This whole business of Watchtower’s blood doctrine has caused a lot of cringing and emotional implosion (and explosion!) over the last 50 years. The thing has never made any sense. Watchtower knows this perfectly well, and is why it has steadfastly refused to deal with all the troublesome details under learned questioning. For an admission of this see the article Blood – Watchtower admits “we have not dealt with all the details” available at: http://marvinshilmer.blogspot.com/2011/02/blood-watchtower-admits-we-have-not.html

    JW Gonebad,

You choose an appropriate term to depict Watchtower’s carnage. What it has done to the community of Jehovah’s Witnesses is nothing less than a massacre hidden in plain sight!

I hope your friend survives his ordeal. But if he refuses the best medicine has to offer he’s at a serious disadvantage and faces an accordingly higher risk of death. Hope he makes it.

    fsp,

You are welcome, and I hope the importance of this data is not lost on readers.

It is somewhat of an unusual data-set making me wonder that its authors wanted someone to have sufficient information to put two and two together on a touchy subject for the typical writer of medical reviews.
