Sure, the Monkees were a pre-fabricated band, but their influence was still immeasurable. Especially Mike Nesmith.

    RIP Davy...

Really sad news to lose anyone to death. I thought the group members were older. It just shows that I must be getting older too.

Terrible video sorry. But lovely. (might consider taking Dramamine before watching)

Davy was my adolescent crush. Tiger Beat, 16, fan club. My mother thought I was going to the dark place. I just had a crush.

    RIP Davy. :'((

OMG- I am getting old. This is better than John Lennon's murder at 40. A relatively young age. I managed to correspond with a Monkees fan in London. She sent me tons of Beatles stuff from England in exchange for American Monkee junk. I was so young. Davy Jones was my younger sister's first crush. Paul McCartney, my first crush, was too old for her.

I hated the Monkees the first time around. When revival shows were launched in more recent years, I saw that the music was not deplorable, but fun. They are on my ipod. I smile whenever I heard their big hits.

A faux group with bubblegum music but, heck, it was fun. Mike Nesmith was in a class of his own. I heard Mickey Dolenz auditioned for the role in Fonzie in Happy Days.

I am shocked. As someone else said, I thought Davy Jones was about ten years older.

During the summer break of my elementary school years I used to watch reruns of their show on TBS faithfully. One of my favorite old school shows.

RIP Davy. On an awkward note, the Monkees were formed in 66", and he died at age 66, ironic right?

When I was a kid we used to watch the Monkeys' reruns after school. Who didn't have a crush on Davy Jones?

Day Dream Believer was one of my favorite songs of that era. I was so trapped by the Borg, all I had left were day dreams.

    RIP Davy
