Watchtower Study today

Today I attended the Watchtower study in the local hall. A strange article.

    1) the article could say how the apostles and elders handled theologic problems. They didn't lobby and they didn't vote. They just came together, shared their thoughts and came to a conclusion.

The Governing Body acts on a opposite manner, Ray Franz told us.

    2) The article slams down the early christian church fathers. One page further the article claims that many christians from church fathers till the late 1800 American christians like Storr's are annointed christians.

    Strange strange strange doctrines.

After making a big deal of how unscriptural the Trinity was, why did they then use a bunch of Trinitarians as examples of 'courageously defending God's Word and exposing the church's unscriptural teachings'???

Why did they cite Peter of Bruys as a 'lover of Bible truth' when he supposedly only accepted the Gospels as authoritative, downgraded the rest of the NT as the mere word of men and rejected the OT??? (Source: newadvent.org - I know, I know, but still ...)

    A nutty WT article indeed!

BTW, if anyone is interested, Richard Rubenstein's book (which was cited in paragraph 12 of today's Watchtower lesson) is titled "When Jesus Became God." It's a fascinating history of the rancorous debates and infighting amongst the nominal Christians during the 2-4th centuries, culminating in the Council of Nicea in 325 C.E.

Reading books on this and other similar subjects related to the history of Christendom reveals just how political and violent the history of false religion truly is. It's just amazing that anyone could think that such a history is actually representative of true Christianity.

***FROSTY INSERT this bitch here is a real piece of work.***

BS!!! YES, this information was so wonderful to explain in simple terms just how Satan maneuvered and manipulated to take control through false teachings. There were dear brave hearted ones who must have had so much persecution, just as it has been on all who stand up for TRUTH. I LOVED our lesson and every time we get one like this one, it just lifts me off my seat and my heart soars because it shows restraint on the part of Jehovah to really set matters straight. He is patient so that more can see just what Christendom is doing so they can run out of there. It won't be long, as he has Satan, the demons, and wicked individuals who lie, deceive, and spread false teaching, a day of reckoning coming. Lots of good history and Jehovah has preserved this for the benefit of all honest-hearted truth seeking ones! It is such a blessing and an honor to have Jehovah's Name on US.

Nuther line of BS dubs really should be on FB

here is something I thought you would be interested in..I almost thought it was you..... but here is a comment that a brother sent from another brother who I do not know.. here it is..

Somewhere in the dark reaches of the Greater Phoenix Area there is this Bagel Shop where Witnesses take a break during service. The story is below.

I thought this was a good experience. I wish our service break spot had a piano man!
So, during the Memorial Campaign we had our CO Visit. During the meeting for field service one morning he was asking us all if we could really think hard, and think of anyone else in the community that we could invite to the Memorial. One of our older brothers (he's 86 and just was baptized about 4 years ago), raised his hand and said that the "piano man" at Jazzy Bagel (a favorite service break spot) is one of his neighbors, and he could invite him to the Memorial. So, our CO asked if he could think of any literature he could place with him. Our brother suggested a Song Book. So for 2 weeks he carried this Song Book around waiting to see him at Jazzy Bagel.
These videos were taken,Jun. 2011, he finally found him at Jazzy Bagel and gave him the Song Book. The piano man immediately started flipping thru it and picked out "He Will Call" and started playing (and improvising). By the time he was on his 2nd song from the book (Life Without End at Last), there was a crowd from 3 different congregations all listening and he received a huge applause (and tons of tips).

He announced that he would always have the Song Book with him on Saturdays in case anyone had any special requests.

I love how no one thinks of how the GOVERNING BODY went from a GROUP of apostles...to SINGULAR men....and now since the mid 1900s a GROUP of men again.

Maybe the WTBTS BIG WIGS told the GB "we're getting lots of dough and people are starting to catch on to our scam. You guys need to get some new light out there and some reminders. We'll throw in some tickets to wherever you want to go on the planet for vacation, just get them back in line!"

Was thinking the exact same thing as I sat there watching the heads bob. The information control is sad-- not a single person there (except myself) had any idea about how the GB does a 2/3 vote. It's like these people are living in North Korea. Amazing how humans control other humans.

I don't know how the Governing Body can print things like yesterday's lesson and still sleep at night. Have they not excommunicated people for standing up for the Bible? Are they not brimming with extra-biblical tradition and doctrine? If they are going to embrace their 'spiritual ancestors' why not bring up William Miller? I notice they gloss over the Second Adventists roots and the fact that the early Bible Students sitting around studying in the 1870's were all Adventists.
