I have not read all the above posts. But the entire subject of local congregations forming a corporation and then taking out loans from the WTS on the real property is just a travesty. The Watchtower is in a no-lose position. They are taking advantage of very unsophisticated people who will pay their debt to "mother" before they will buy food, if it comes to that.

Seeing a LOT of remodels going on by us. Either a congregation has just remodeled, is in the process of, or is going to - one congregation is even upgrading to a new hall (despite 0% growth in the past 20 years)
Is this the society sprucing up its real estate assets before an anticipated "drop" in first-world, Internet-savvy countries? Dissolving and then combining congregations and selling off updated halls would make a pretty decent source of revenue.
