the biggest most pointless meeting at the moment is the Service Meeting.
When will they merge the BS, TMS, WTS, T into one meeting ?

I think the SM was left out of the original list, by mistake I think.
In countries where people are poor and have to travel far to the meetings, the WTS has arranged for all the meetings to be on one day, a non work day.

Giving up the BS evening and replacing it with 'Family Worship' evening is doing the opposite of what they wanted I suspect because in a family environment you feel more free to say what you think without repercussions. I've used it to sow many seeds of doubt in my family, I suspect many families are doing this. By cutting meetings down they would be losing control...

I cannot see it happening any time soon.
However, there would be an advantage, far less KH's would be needed. Congregations could share a KH, more than currently, and the surplus KH's sold off and the proceeds sent to Brooklyn.

I see BS insinuating itself throughout all the meetings. Bullsheeeeet.

Another elder and I predicted consolidating the Bookstudy and TMS/service meeting into one years before it happened. The next thing to go will be the "Friday" program at DCs. Less bullshit to come up with.

I doubt that will ever happen simply because they don't like the R&F to have too much free time on their hands. Imagine having several nights in a row free where you didn't have to go for 2 hours of brainwashing. That could lead to all kinds of horrible things like thinking for yourself, spending time doing things you actually enjoy or getting to the point where you can't even be bothered going on Sunday.

I don't think they'll relinquish much more time monopolizing control (less meat-ings, ass-em-bleeds and con-ventions), but I do think they will be shortened
Case in point, the WTS. The new format in the magazines contains wider margins (for notes), larger print (ease of reading/study) and far less material/scripture. This new dumbed down version feels like we're beating a dead horse taking one full hour to go over, so I wouldn't be surprised if the WTS gets shortened.
They will most likely give some bs excuse, like it's for more service time on Sunday, but we'll all know it's because they are losing R&Fers who don't like giving up their whole Sunday morning (or whenever) for this shit.
The same was true of the BS that went by the way of the dodo bird. The $ociety said it was for more personal study time, but it was because attendance was appalling, NO ONE WENT.

Interesting about shortening the meeting with the least attendance. That sounds very logical. But I think the WTS no longer takes attendance counts of each of the specific meetings (BS, TMS, WT, etc). Hence I think they will continue to have the same meetings and length of meetings. They need the Watchtower study to keep reigns on the congs.

@straightshooter:
They count every Sheeple at each meat-ing and post it on the information board at the back of the hall; even if they don't post it, they do keep track so the circuit oversneer can get stats on the conned-green-nation.
And no I don't think they will do away with the WTS, I think they will just shorten it.
