Some of these phrases are typical weasel words and phrases, often used by politicians when they're deliberately trying to be vague so they can claim they meant something OTHER than what everyone knows they meant later.
Of course, weasel words are valid when you want to avoid offending someone about a sensitive issue. I doubt that's the case here since the vast majority of their readers are already indoctrinated. Also, the Society clearly doesn't mind offending others they deem unworthy.
