MAKESHIFT EXPLANATIONS OF EVENTUALLY DISCARDED OPINIONS

    The Truth must be defined.

Here is my definition of the Watchtower Society's TRUTH:

Makeshift explanations of eventually discarded opinions.

How else do we explain the necessity of discarding what has been revealed?

If God is eternal and it is God channeling this deteriorating "Truth" something is awry!

The Watchtower Society grasps at understanding from a certain point of view.

Their conjectures, opinions and guesses become legitimate only by INSISTING they are not conjectures, opinions and guesses.

Yet, when these Truths are changed, what better proof of the fragile and unsubstantial nature is more evident?

Is there no difference at all between "ever-changing" and "eternal"?

Man's investigations are progressive because humans start from a state of ignorance.

Why would God's starting point be the same and needing "progress"?

If you have two carpenters and one of them has to tear down what he builds in order to modify his work

while the other carpenter gets it right the first time: WHO is the Master Carpenter and who is the Amateur?

What if the amateur carpenter proudly exclaims "I am a progressive carpenter". Does that change the flaws, cost-over runs and rickety construction?

    I love that sentence Phizzy.

And the answer of course is no, The God would not choose the "do it three times to get it right" group to care for His Belongings.

Pastor Russell did not approve of central authority over congregations in christianity.

Russell started a publishing company and not a religion.

So, how was it that Jehovah approved of a loosely scattered group of independant congregations as his "elect"?

Rutherford had installed himself against the express will of Russell on the Board of Directors of the publishing company.

Rutherford stated that it was Russell who was editing the Watchtower FROM HEAVEN.

What mention of JEHOVAH'S authority is there in that?

Like radio comedians of old, the glory days of the WT message has passed. It's been over for JWs since 1975 and they just can't find anyone who appreciates or is scared of their message, which has turned into a pathetic schtick, which they have trouble delivering with an honest smile at the door.

This is what the house the Watchtower Corporation built in 1879, its getting old and run down and its starting to look

like its about to crumble in spite of the occasional attempts to support it by updated doctrines .

It kind of looks like a house that was built by men though rather than all supreme god of the universe.

Hi Terry and every one here.

I've been enjoying a lot of good posts from Terry and all lately. You may find it interesting to know that on another thread some one mentioned that the CO's test idea's for Bethel. It was said that before a "new thought" is developed and published by the WT; they get some feed back form the CO's. These ideas are generously "leaked" to appreciative and privileged elders and pioneers through this represenitive of the GB! The reception in checked on how well it does, and rebuttals are reasoned out in NY. If they have a strong case for printing this as a teaching, and serves the interests of the "organization"; then wella'! More new light! Hopefully it is well thought out, or more light may be nessesary to explain, change or cover up this light from "heaven".

    Have a great week all.

The Watchtower only changes "understanding" by adjustment.

    The "truth" remains the same.

Does that sound plausible? It does to them!

So, what is the Truth about anything if you are wrong in what you say about it while insisting God gave it to you and that others MUST accept it?

Once you must "adjust" the understanding you are admitting you were wrong.

What the Watchtower Publishing Corporation produces cannot be Truth for the simple reason it is ALWAYS their OPINION about what is true.

The do not accept OWNERSHIP of their own opinion when they introduce it and insist you believe it, do they?

    The WT's 1998 artical...

    Do You Know The Truth?

    In this series:

"The Truth Will Set You Free"

"You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." So declared Jesus as he was teaching the multitudes in the temple in Jerusalem. (John 8:32) Jesus' apostles could readily identify Jesus' teachings as the truth. They had seen abundant evidence of their teacher's divine origin.

They quote the Messiah; yet in practice, insist that "recognizing" their GB is the "only" way to truth and "salvation!" I guess that makes WT the divine teachers on earth, that can 'wily-nilly' change their minds. That they can also demand that we discard real truths at their beck and calling! Well, so much for freedom in Christ!

Religion should be recognized as a game of smoke and mirrors, indentured to mostly empower the self proclaimers

and to control others by their own self professed proclamations.

That being the case is it any wonder you don't see religionists getting together debating doctrines but rather will call and

point others out as being false teachers.

It just might be that they just don't want to be truly revealed to what they really are and why their doctrines

    fail under critical scrutiny..
