You know it took me a few years to realize that and to fully admit that it is just that... a cult. The WTBTS teaches you how to defend against others' accusations. But now I can happily admit to my "worldly" friends that I was raised up in a friggin cult.

Took me a while to admit it to myself as well. I got sick of people calling it a cult (this was after my wake up even) but it is NOT a cult. So I started researching cults, mind control. the HOW's of cults, not the who or where, but how they worked. Holy crap, they are a cult.
I usually use the term mind control when talking with JWs however, cult tends to be a close down and shut off word.
