I care about a lot of things, and if I let all of them affect me, I would be crying all the time. It's important for me to have an 'off' switch about world tragedy -- do you want to start? Somalia, Haiti, inner cities, street kids, Nepal, etc. etc.
I can't help but get emotionally involved when my close friends are suffering.
George, agreed! They are 'friends of the USA', ergo, not Quadaffi, not Afghanistan, and not oil-rich, thus no 'intervention'.

It's sad that there is so much trouble over there. My Father's side of the family is from Damascus. They were Jewish, and they came here many years ago to escape the persecution. Now there are only about 25 Jewish people living in all of Syria.
Now Christians are down to 15% population. I wish them safety.
I don't think that the fighting everywhere will ever end.
This is true we are witnessing a slaughter right in front of us and their only so much we can do.
Now their is a report of chemical weapons in stock.
Marine Troops at Camp Pendleton were on the move yesterday and today, and on the news they said the Marines are heading to Jordan. We have troops on the ground now.
