"...(1)Does every Christian foretell the future by divine revelation, or (2)simply speak about what God has revealed in Scripture about the future? We have always made it plain we are speaking of (2) when describing our activities..."

I don't recall Watchtower ever explaining it this way. Can he quote Watchtower literature that supports these two points? Or is he becoming some self-appointed apologist by giving his own spin?

If the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is not a false prophet, neither is Harold Camping.

On what basis does Jehovah God consider Aaron to be Moses' prophet in speaking God's word to Pharaoh as a substitute for Moses?

    Exodus 7:1

Aaron was to be Moses' spokesman (prophet) NOT God's prophet. In other words Aaron would speak for Moses. Aaron was not speaking for God.

Look up 2 Corinthians 5:20. It seems that the NWT has added "substitute" were it does not exist.

The correct interpretation looks like "ambassadors FOR Christ" as though Christ IS a Kingdom.

OMG, just glancing over egghead's post and realizing...He fuckin' sounds JUST like my ex... "I'm not going to tell you, you're going to figure out what I'm trying to convey to you even though I'm speaking in friggin' riddles and pretty much have no clue what I am even talking about...the things I'm going to hint at are all clues and YOU are going to figure it out and tell ME". Instead of just coming out and saying it. Nothing worse than a pompous prick who speaks in puzzles and expects YOU to take your time and energy to figure out what the hell he's talking about when he really doesn't even know, himself.

I agree with trying out JWfacts... Did someone have a scan of the mags that had the 1975 crap all over them??? Or the Rutherford book with the timetable with 1975 pointed to in the paragraphs??

It's a cop out. Newer ones don't know of the WTS history, and the older ones are skilled at spinning their WTS past history like the attornys the WTS hire.

My new one is, if the GB is not giving spirit inspired information, how can they say they're really anointed? What spirit is anointing them if they cannot give out spirit even inspired information?

They decided to put out this WT statment due to the 1975 farce. This article also blatently shows none of their interpetations of prophecy is inspired, therefore interpetations of Daniel or the wild beast or other WTS musing are BS. It also shows the anointing of early Christians were authentic, and their writings were infallible according to the WTS.

Watchtower: 23. March 1, 1979. "the “faithful and discreet slave” has alerted all of God’s people to the sign of the times indicating the nearness of God’s Kingdom rule. In this regard, however, it must be observed that this “faithful and discreet slave” was never inspired, never perfect. Those writings by certain members of the “slave” class that came to form the Christian part of God’s Word were inspired and infallible [the bible], but that is not true of other writings since."

"All" the info you need re 1975 is here:

thetrueone has qouted above the info you need to show proven WTS musing of prophecy

I personally love these scriptures regarding 1914.

    2 Thess 2:1-17

1 Now we request you, a brethren, with regard to the 1 b coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our c gathering together to Him,

2 that you not be quickly shaken from your 1 composure or be disturbed either by a a spirit or a 2 b message or a c letter as if from us, to the effect that d the day of the Lord e has come.

    1 Timothy 1:1-20

1 Paul, a an apostle of b Christ Jesus c according to the commandment of c God our Savior, and of b Christ Jesus, who is our d hope,

2 To a Timothy, a my true child in the faith: b Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and c Christ Jesus our Lord.

3 As I urged you 1 upon my departure for a Macedonia, 2 remain on at b Ephesus so that you may instruct certain men not to c teach strange doctrines,

4 nor to 1 pay attention to a myths and endless b genealogies, which give rise to mere c speculation rather than d furthering 2 the administration of God which is by faith.

5 But the goal of our 1 a instruction is love b from a pure heart and a c good conscience and a sincere d faith.

6 For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to a fruitless discussion,

7 a wanting to be b teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.

    2 Corinth 11: 12-15

And what I do I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. 13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is not strange if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

This is great! Thanks for all the input. I'm at work now but I'll log in here tonight when I get home to share with you a few other bonehead comments this JW made....

No, they never mentioned 1975 at all, ever. It was a few who ran ahead of the organisation and were speculating incorrectly!

1982 Watchtower page 15 paragraph 11 (end of) I am going to type in here exactly what my personal copy from the time had printed, this may be a case of the infamous changes that have taken place in the bound volumes and on the C.D, so, my actual copy reads :

"Truly I say to you that this generation [the generation that saw the "beginning of pangs of distress" in 1914] will by no means pass away [completely] until all these things occur. Heaven will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away." --- Matthew 24:3, 8 , 34, 35.

The above fits the bill on both counts, as both a spokesman or predictor they have failed. Their bits in brackets inserted in the scripture are really damning, IMHO.

    Mind Blown says .....

if the GB is not giving spirit inspired information, how can they say they're really anointed? What spirit is anointing them if they cannot

give out spirit even inspired information ?

The real spirit thats driving and directing this organization for over 100 years has been the spirit of adverse commercialism endeavored

by a religious publishing house, that has been exploiting the belief in the bible as vehicle for the proliferation

of the organization's own published works.

Not to mention the exploitation of people whom they've coerced in to buying and distributing their products.

    ************************************************

"Does God's rest day parallel the time man has been on earth since his creation? Apparently so. In what year, then, would the first 6,000 years of man's existence and also the first 6,000 years of Gods rest day come to an end? The year 1975. It means that within a relatively few years we will witness the fulfilment of the remaining prophecies that have to do with the "time of the end"." Awake! 1966 Oct 8 pp.19-20

"The immediate future is certain to be filled with climactic events, for this old system is nearing its complete end. Within a few years at most the final parts of Bible prophecy relative to these "last days" will undergo fulfilment." Watchtower 1968 May 1 p.272
