the egyptians favoured sirius and orion, im not sure of their thoughts about the seven sisters of pleiades. however we can see rutherford like egyptian priests used the idea of some throne in a star cluster.

The above quote regarding star Alcyone is from Thy Kingdom Come p327 which is also known as Study in the Scriptures Volume 3, and Millennial Dawn Volume 3.

Where Russell got the idea for Plaiades, I don't really know but there is enough crazy shit in this book that really is irrelevant to me where the idea originated. Here's the page where I got the above quote from.

For anyone interested in Russell's calculation of various dates and Pyramid measurements I suggest you get Thy Kingdom Come book or download the pdf and have a read. It is an eye opener, at least it was the book that got me to realize wts was a fraud. This book contains tons of info that JW just don't have a clue about nor do their studies. Here's the link to it.

Im not saying your wrong about Rutherford publishing these ideas, im just saying Rutherfords view of the Bible and what xians today think was quite different. Its not hard to see he was aware of the Egyptian origins of the OT. We can see his homage to the Sun and stars by way of beliefs like the Pleiades and other symbology that can be found on other publications for a start.

The above scan was for iCeltic who wanted the scan regarding the star.

As for Egyptian art, the pyramid and the Plaiades, Rutherford inherited these from Russell

The angels channeled information into his mind from God residing on the star Alcyone. (Preservation 1932 pp.5l; 201-203)

Thanks for posting the scan, much appreciated. Although, it doesn't say that Russell believed or taught that, it's a quote from Rev J Seiss. I thought one of these old books may have said something about the information going straight to his mind from angels and God being on Alcyone. That would be interesting if it said those things.

Why is Rutherford the epitome of evil and Russell, with his bizarre teachings, so holy? Russell may have had a better personality but I see no intellectual heft to this work. Only dated, weird ideas. My father had the old literature from Russell's days. I saw occult symbols with my own eyes. The first time I rummaged through them, I screamed and ran to my mother. Where is pyramid worship in the Bible? If I recall correctly, the Bible paints the Egyptians in a bad light.

They both were opportunistic men striving for public notoriety as spirit guided saviors of all mankind

and utilized the WTS. publishing house as vehicle to accomplish this feat.

Whatever the bullshit they came up, the ending result was to gather up as much attention from the public they could.

At times when Rutherford gave a public talk at a convention, he was greeted by the delegates equal to and at times more like he was the

President of the United States, complete with an entourage of body guards surrounding him.
