"Price seems a little high really...but great information."
An electronic version is available for less than ten bucks. The book is also available in some libraries.

Is anyone in contact with Cynthia? How is she doing?

I believe she is moving soon and Dan and Debbie Dykstra are taking care of her needs, including the store. Cynthia is not filling the orders. She just wanted to be free of the book business. I don't blame her. So Debbie is running Commentary Press.
They are getting rid of the hardcovers first, as they were an earlier release. Must have a lot of leftovers. Afterwards, Amazon will most likely print and sell them for Cynthia completely. Then the price will go down more.

The price was definitely lower before Ray Franz died; I seem to remember paying about $18 or $19 for CoC. After his death new copies became unavalable, which caused the price of used copies to go through the roof at $100 and higher.
Considering how scarce they have been the current price of $30 isn't that bad, and if it goes down more in the future as Randy suggests, even better.
Of note, $30 will get you a hard cover of either book.
The PDF download is available here for $7.95, http://www.commentarypress.com/Detail/eng_crisis_e.html, also sold by Cynthia Franz through the CommentaryPress site.
