WH: every other effort to keep people in the dark ages

and some of the older ones still get weird with technology. Not weird in the sense that it's overwhelming
I think they are trying to appear on top of the technological age whilst being unaware of its power. They still use print as the preferred method of communication for their members but they realise that the door to door magazine sales routine lacks the impact it once had. They also realise that the door to door ministry makes the witnesses seem out of touch.
However you can bet your life that the witnessing work for the faithful will not change and they will still be discouraged from looking at internet sites that are not approved.
They are so full of shight, do they not see that the Internet is like a candy store and were all kids with a pocket full of money?
Before we were told to avoid the store at all costs, now they're opening the front door and encouraging us to waltz on in.
The best part is they tell you to only buy one kind of boring bland candy, because all the other pretty sweet stuff is bad and will kill you, but how long do you think it will take before you try every piece in the store?
I bet mommy dearest wash-towel won't even get her back turned before the kids start shoving their mouths full of sticky sweet confections.
And
Don't rule out Internet bashing at the con-ventions and ass-em-bleeds quite yet, I mean it's the wash-towel after all; they have to be contradictorily love hating something all the time.
I'm sure there will be plenty of finger waggling still centered on the eeevils and then they’ll point out the only safe version of this blessing from jayhoover is the wash-towel one. The jest of the parts will be that the Internet is ok now, but only the wash-towel approved Internet.
The talks will most likely be given by old farts who’ve probably never been on the web and will say something like, “Who wants to go anywhere else but their site because the rest of the Internet is only naughty porn, evil social networking and wicked apostates right?”
Do you think there are very many witnesses who are using tablets right now at the meetings? My son's father-in-law told me that there was a young man at his hall who had an ipad, had downloaded the study Watchtower, and that's what he was using instead of a printed Watchtower. Said he could even click a link and open up the scriptures that were cited. He thought it was great and might get one for himself.
I love stories like that B & C. I can't wait to see what happens if he surfs the net
We have 3 or 4 iPad users in our hall. One of them is in his 80's! Good for him!
Perhaps the faithful slave is becoming a split personality?
Last summer, the "watchman class" were "deeply concerned" at the number of people spending time on the internet, the cause of great evil.
Then, in February, page 5 of the Awake gives an account of how social networking could have helped keep people in touch after the earthquake and tsunami. "So much time could have been saved by social ntworking. Within minutes everyone could have been brought up to date."
A complete about-turn.
Now, they're talking of relying more and more on the web, of maximising their internet potential through a revamped website. Is this the Watchman class again? Or maybe some hi-tec youngsters? Does the right hand know what the left hand is doing?
Older and younger members of the congregation here see the internet as evil, and warn anyone from researching about the Watchtower because Satan sends us to apostate sites he controls. Naturally.
The coming months could be interesting!
Maybe not a split personality, but different depts marching to the beat of different drums. I does seem like there are some differences that are becoming obvious in the mags lately
The Schizophrenic nature of the WT is nothing new.
