A newby Christian of a different faith asked me about the practice of baptizing dead people due to Rommney & another Mormon news story, they were horrified that the Mormon's would baptize them when they were dead too. Another one of those cult things people don't seem to really know about and the media is too squeemish to report on very often. Much like the ignorance about jw-ism.

Don't they believe in one marriage? Jefferson was married. He never married again b/c he promised his dying wife he would not. Sally Hemmings remained a slave until his death. They had no marital relationsip. Jefferson was brilliant in many way but some aspects of his character were not good.
I can't imagine Jefferson would want to marry Sally. Sexual abuse was present. Why do so many people see a romantic relationship? He kept his own sons as slaves. Where was Sally to go? I would call it genteel rape at the best.
How dare they? I notice that they wait until people are dead.
With the legitimate faith having only one wife, what happens when someone loses a spouse.
