Is Psychokinesis Real?

OK, over my many years of being a Witness, on rare
occasions, strange, almost miraculous things would
happen in my life - since these things were mostly
positive (I don't know if I call foreknowledge of
a relative's death positive!), I just patted myself
on the back, thinking I was a "good boy" in God's
    sight!

Well, stuff still would happen, now and then, when
I wasn't so faithful! In reading the Bible, I found
that miraculous gifts of the spirit did NOT necessarily
coincide with being totally obedient - like Paul's
instructions on disorderly meetings 'cause people
wouldn't stop speaking in tongues. I also read Sheldrake's
book on Dogs That Know When Their Owners Are Returning
Home, which led me to think that ESP, if real, was
simply a property of nature, not Divine approval.

So, I investigated things on my own - and found that
a few people could produce remarkable effects reliably.
In Mind Over Matter, the author recounts his personal
meetings with writer Martin Caidin. He practised
putting aluminum foil pinwheels on needle points under
glass enclosures - and then turning them with ihs mind!
Also, see the book Mind Machines You Can Build by
    G. Harry Stine.

I carefully built one of these 'pinwheels under glass'.
I used a clear display cylinder that can be sealed
airtight. I practised meditating in the way the book
    describes and.....

    it moves!

I can make it oscillate back and forth from about three
feet away. It responds strongly to my hands and fingers.
(not from weight shifting, I'm careful)

I'm still experimenting with this (it works most of
the time) I don't want my wife to see this because
it might spook her (pointing at an object intently
    and making it turn).

Anyway, get the books and experiment with it yourself.
Try it with an open mind and playful outlook.

Me? I'm practising. Maybe someday I can toss a cinder block
across a room just by thinking about it..

    And if I ever do,
    I'm gonna visit Bethel..

there's a scene from Carrie, I'd really like to try.....

    have fun

Sounds an awful lot like Brownian motion to me.

    Metatron,

What you are playing with is called electrostatics.

You said it responds to your hands. Why do you have to use your hands? Why does the aluminum have to be thin and light?

Of particular interest: You don't vacuum seal the chambers, do you?

Even without vacuum sealing (which would virtually eliminate air friction), the convection currents within the chamber would be slight. Therefore, the pinwheels would be susceptible to even small perturbations from outside.

    Think about it.

there are many things we as humans don't understand. Let people scoff, but there will always be subject lacking explanation, and there will always be people trying to conjure the explanation up. For God's sakes, if you don't understand something, just let it go!

P.S. I dunno if i believe in telekinesis, but i do believe in keeping an open mind about things. ;-)

    dorkydood,

Do you have an open mind when it comes to physical explanations?

Metatron, great experience you've had. People scoff at those who are able to do things they can't. In Vietnam i could step into a hoock and tell immediately if someone was under a trap door hiding underneath, it was a feeling that I had. Also when searching abandoned french housing i could tell if someone was in there when coming in to. Nothing spectacular as we had people with wwii experience who could do the same darn thing. People have to have an open inquisitive mind, no a closed door like the borg.

Psychic ability in humans is very weak, but good enough to detect the presense of someone in a room or trapdoor as described. We rely so much on our regular senses 6th sense type things are weaker.
