I too have been looking for a job, rather desperately. A friend suggested reading What Color Is Your Parachute. The beginning part is very encouraging and helpful, but if you get too deeply into it, it's easy to get bogged down and lose sight of the benefits earlier on. I'm sure that everything in the book is appropriate for some people.
