Today, the Sudbury (Suffolk - UK) Congregation heard announced that "Rory Sullivan is no longer one of JWs"

There is no adequate explanation when faced with inconsistencies in scriptural interpretation. The position is all too often adopted that ones who were expelled from the congregation brought it upon themselves. They were not willing to patiently "wait on the Lord"; they displayed a lack of loyalty; they were presumptuous; they “went running ahead". Never is this a judgement the Governing Body turns on itself. To take just one example, when the Watch-Tower Society “went running ahead" and published dates for the end of the world to come in 1914, 1925, and 1975, the subsequent exodus from the organisation was put down to a lack of loyalty on the part of those who left, rather than something the Society had brought upon itself.

I particularly liked that statement above. This kind of thinking reflects in a large way exactly what I think. Its a great a blessing to know that there are so many like-minded individuals who will stand up to what is right and to help others as well.

This is very interesting. If there have been earlier threads about either this brave and reasonable man or the Sudbury congregation, I've missed them. Can anyone say in a nutshell what the back story is to this?

In the final analysis, what will be the fate of an organization that casts out the caring, the principled, the just, or merely those capable of reasoning?

The true Zombie Apocalypse is just around the corner. . .

A very well written letter that may plant a seed of doubt to be watered later by another.

    They all add up.

My exit was eventually caused by lots of little things like this that finally added up to one big thing which could no longer be pushed to the back of my mind. All those doubts came back as return vists and became an "aha" moment that could no longer be ignored.

WT society leaders have no conscience, they'll DF him anyway and announce it . They don't care about how many lives they destroy

The members of the Religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are witnesses for the Organization of the Watchtower Society.

For them to be saying so and so is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses is the same as saying the Organization is equal to Jehovah God.

Because it is Jehovah who knows who witnesses for Jehovah are. No man can know that.

    American Standard Version
Christ "Jesus" who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped. Philipians 2:6

Why if Christ does not grasp it even, why do they? They ARE NOT walking in Christ's footsteps.

WT society leaders have no conscience, they'll DF him anyway and announce it . They don't care about how many lives they destroy. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

They rationalize this by concluding that the person made their decisions and brought this upon themselves.

Rory submitted his article to me as well. In fact I asked for it when I saw his first thread a couple of weeks ago about this happening.

I had it edited and in queue when I saw that it had been published on another website. But I decided to go ahead and publish it, although still centered around Rory's letter, as my presentation is a little different and expanded somewhat.

I have not heard from Rory as to whether the letter was actually read the evening of the 4th. I think he brings up some excellent points.

Seeing how his article is appearing between two of the Menlo Park "Elder tells all" posts, he should have a lot of readers and commenters.

I wish only the best for Rory and his family. He seems strong, so I'm sure he will survive however it turns out.
