No, dgp, to date all members of the GB have been professed, partaking anointed male jws. Just once Hayden Covington was appointed to the board of directors but he stepped own on the basis he was not anointed at the time. Actually, there was not a WT defined GB before 1971, but only a board of directors of the WTS. I am not supporting the WTS position, merely explaining it, historically.

Blondie, I know you're explaining their position, and I appreciate it very much, not just for the knowledge and the nice interaction but also because it is essential to my post. Yes, they claim that the Governing Body is composed of anointed, in the sense of "holy spirit" without capital letters. OK. But, is this Governing Body more relevant to Jehovah than David was? If the answer is yes, then how come he's less important, if he was the king of Israel and had the privilege of counting Jesus among his descendants? If the answer is no, then are we happy to have second-tier guys issuing rulings?
It would seem that being one of the "anointed" in the spiritual sense should matter less than being one of the anointed in the physical sense.
Again, I want to thank you very much for your posts and the knowledge you share. You are just great.

The WTS teaches that the anointing or calling to heaven did not start until after the death of Jesus and his "presenting his sacrifice to God in heaven and it being accepted." That is why Jesus said the least one in heaven was higher than John the Baptist who died before that. That is why the holy spirit was not poured out on Christians until Pentecost 33 C.E. per the WTS.
I don't remember ever hearing that before. I thought I'd learned most of the main teachings but that one somehow slipped through the net. Or maybe it seemed so unreasonable that I kind of mentally tucked it away to look at later in case sleeping on it lets it make more sense.
It doesn't really, does it?

Are the GB more relavant than David...in the WTS opinion yes. All anointed jws are going to die and be resurrected as spirits to rule as kings and serve as priests in heaven along side Jesus for 1,000 years over the humans left on earth after Armageddon and those dead in Sheol who will be resurrected. While the WTS says they won't be any better, it is emphasized over and over in the WTS publications the superior reward that awaits the anointed. The WTS even teaches that the anointed are imperfect humans while on earth, but upon death become instantly perfect, but humans on earth will need 1,000 years to reach perfection. There is nothing logical or rational or scriptural about what the WTS teaches; they subscribe to the WESAYSO philisophy of life.

*** w10 2/1 p. 6 Do All Good People Go to Heaven? ***John the Baptist was a good man. Yet, Jesus indicated that he would not be exalted to rule as a king in heaven. “Among those born of women,” Jesus said, “there has not been raised up a greater than John the Baptist; but a person that is a lesser one in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he is.”—Matthew 11:11.
*** w08 1/15 p. 21 par. 5 Counted Worthy to Receive a Kingdom ***Interestingly, immediately before speaking of those who would ‘seize’ the Kingdom of the heavens, Jesus said: “Truly I say to you people, Among those born of women there has not been raised up a greater than John the Baptist; but a person that is a lesser one in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he is.” (Matt. 11:11) Why was that? Because the hope of being part of the Kingdom arrangement was not fully opened up to faithful ones until holy spirit was poured out at Pentecost 33 C.E. By that time, John the Baptist had died.—Acts 2:1-4.
*** w95 10/15 pp. 24-25 par. 6 What Future for the Sheep and the Goats? ***Why did Jesus mention “theleast” of his brothers? Those words echo what the apostles heard him say earlier. When contrasting John the Baptist, who died before Jesus and therefore had an earthly hope, with those attaining to heavenly life, Jesus said: “There has not been raised up a greater than John the Baptist; but a person that is a lesser one in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he is.” (Matthew 11:11)
*** w94 3/1 p. 5 Peace of Mind in a Competitive Society ***Then, think of the ancient faithful servants of God who will be resurrected on earth. Abraham was an outstanding example of faith and was called “the father of all those having faith.” (Romans 4:9, 11) Job set a sterling example of endurance. (James 5:11) Moses, “by far the meekest of all the men who were upon the surface of the ground,” led the nation of Israel to freedom. (Numbers 12:3) Who among imperfect humans has set a better example of faith, endurance, and meekness than these men? However, they are in line for inheriting the earthly realm of God’s Kingdom. (Matthew 25:34; Hebrews 11:13-16) They, like John the Baptizer, will be ranked below “a person that is a lesser one in the kingdom of the heavens.” (Matthew 11:11)

Thank you very much, Blondie .
Just as a final comment: then it was only fair that Rutherford should occupy Beth Sharim. After all, he was above the "ancient worthies".
