    IMITATE JESUS’ EXAMPLE OF

    WATCHFULNESS

“Keep on the watch and pray.”—MATT. 26:41.

    OPENING COMMENTS

Who truly had to be watchful? Who could humans really imitate, imperfect Christians in the first century? Truly they had less information, no bibles yet, no publications. But then they had the miracles of the holy spirit? How many jws have seen anyone healed at the KH or resurrected from the dead?

    START OF ARTICLE

    HOW WOULD YOU ANSWER?

    How can our prayers

    demonstrate that we are

    on the watch?

In what ways can we show

that we are watchful in our

    ministry?

Why is it important that we

keep on the watch when under

trial, and how can we do so?

1, 2. (a) What questions might arise concerning Jesus’ example of watchfulness? (b) Is Jesus’ perfect example useful for sinful humans? Illustrate.

YOU might wonder: ‘Is it really possible to

imitate Jesus’ example of watchfulness? After

all, Jesus was perfect! What is more, Jesus

was at times able to see clearly into the future

—even thousands of years beyond his own day! Did

he really need to be watchful?’ (Matt. 24:37-39; Heb.

4:15) Let us address those questions first so that

we can see just how relevant and urgent this subject

    is.

    COMMENTS

Does the WTS (FDS/GB) feel that they can see clearly into the future; they claim to be Jesus’ only true followers and the recipients of God’s revelations?

"This was the test - the coming down of fire; and the fulfillment exactly on time has proved that Pastor Russell was one of God's great reformers and prophets." Watchtower 1919 Oct 1 p.297

"For an answer, people should listen to the plain preaching by the remnant prefigured by Jeremiah, for these preach to men the present-day fulfillment of Jeremiah's prophecies. Who made them a prophet to speak with the authority that they claim? Well, who made Jeremiah a prophet?" Watchtower 1959 Jan 15 pp.39-41

"Those who do not read can hear, for God has on earth today a prophetlike organization, just as he did in the days of the early Christian congregation." Watchtower 1964 Oct 1 p.601

"So, does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come?
    IDENTIFYING THE "PROPHET"
These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet? ... This "prophet" was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian witnesses. ... Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a "prophet" of God. It is another thing to prove it. The only way that this can be done is to review the record. Thus this group of anointed followers of Jesus Christ, doing a work in Christendom paralleling Ezekiel's work among the Jews, were manifestly the modern-day Ezekiel, the "prophet" commissioned by Jehovah to declare the good news of God's Messianic kingdom and to give warning to Christendom." Watchtower 1972 Apr 1 pp.197-199 'They Shall Know that a Prophet Was Among Them'

    http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/jehovahs-prophet.php

2 Is a perfect example helpful for sinful humans?

Yes, because it is possible to learn from a good teacher

and his example. For instance, imagine a man taking

his first archery lesson. He cannot shoot an arrow well

enough to hit the target at all, but he takes

more lessons and keeps on trying. To improve, he

carefully studies the example of his instructor, who

is an expert archer. The student pays attention to

how his teacher stands, positions his arms, and uses

his fingers on the bowstring. Little by little, the determined

novice learns how much tension to apply

to the string; he takes the wind into account, and he

keeps on making an effort. By imitating what he sees

his instructor do, he eventually aims his arrows so

that they strike closer and closer to the center of the

target. Similarly, we keep on striving to improve as

Christians by following Jesus’ instructions and imitating

    his perfect example.

    COMMENTS

Is the WTS a good teacher and example of what Jesus taught and exemplified?

Did Jesus flipflop what he taught; would he have told his followers that the “superior authorities” in Romans 13 were

    1) secular governments (WTS doctrine till 1929)

    2) God and Jesus (1929 to 1962)

    3) secular governments (1962 to present)

Is this increasing light or going from light (1) to dark (2) back to light (3)?

So how many jws today can identify with archery, using a bow and arrow? I knew one brother that went bow and arrow hunting for deer and was severely criticized by the elders.

Christians = only jws, all others who profess to being Christians are false.

Who do jws follow, Jesus, or the WTS as they explain what Jesus meant? If you asked a jw what religion they are, would they say “I’m a Christian” or “I’m one of Jehovah’s Witnesses”?

Few realize that Jesus told his followers at Acts 1:8 that they would be witnesses of him, Jesus’ witnesses, and no where in the NT are Christians ever identified as Jehovah’s witnesses (except for funky inserts) but as witnesses of Jesus. Hmmm…………

    3. (a) How did Jesus indicate that he needed the quality of

watchfulness? (b) What will we consider in this article?

3 What, though, about watchfulness? Did Jesus

actually need this quality? In fact, he did. For

instance, on the final night of his earthly

life, Jesus urged his faithful apostles:

“Keep on the watch with me.” He added:

“Keep on the watch and pray continually,

that you may not enter into temptation.”

(Matt. 26:38, 41) Though he had

    manifested watchfulness all along, in

those dire hours Jesus especially wanted

to be watchful and as close to his heavenly

Father as possible. He knew that

his followers needed the same alertness

—not just then but in the future. So let

us consider why Jesus wants us to keep

on the watch. Afterward, we will examine

three ways in which we can imitate

    Jesus’ watchfulness in our daily

    lives.

    COMMENTS

While Jesus was watchful and wanted his followers to be, they did not have the future information he did.

Though were they looking at a time 2,000 years in the future or until 70 C.E. with the destruction of the temple and what the Jewish religion rested on?

WHY JESUS WANTS US TO BE WATCHFUL

    4. What is the connection between what we do

not know about the future and our need to be

    watchful?

4 In brief, Jesus wants us to remain

watchful because of what we do not

know and what we do know. When Jesus

was a man on earth, did he know

all that the future held? No, for he humbly

    acknowledged: “Concerning that day

and hour nobody knows, neither the angels

of the heavens nor the Son, but

only the Father.” (Matt. 24:36) At that

time, Jesus, “the Son,” did not know exactly

when the end of this wicked world

would come. What about us today? Is

our knowledge of the future limited? Of

course it is! We do not know just when

Jehovah will send forth his Son to put an

end to this wicked system of things. If

we did, would we really need to keep on

the watch? As Jesus explained, the end

will come suddenly, unexpectedly; so we

need to keep ever watchful.—Read Matthew

    24:43.

    COMMENTS

Jesus did not most of what the future held; angels had revealed it to his parents, as a perfect human his understanding of the bible was superior he showed at age 12, and at age 30 and his baptism the WTS teaches God revealed his past to him, heavenly past of millions of years with God.

As one jw said, he did not know the day or hour but he knew THE YEAR…haha.

The WTS has said they knew the YEAR several times

    1914

    1915

    1920

    1925

    1940’s

    1975

    (1984)

    (1994)

Wicked system of things = all non-jws, 7 billion men, women, children, babies even in the womb

Suddenly, unexpectedly??? How then was the WTS able to predict this in the past?

It is no accident that the WTS leaves out Matthew 24:44…(underline mine)

(Matthew 24:44) On this account YOU too prove yourselves ready, because at an hour that YOU do not think to be it, the Son of man is coming.

5, 6. (a) How does our knowledge of the future

and of God’s purposes affect our need to

be watchful? (b) Why should our knowledge

about Satan make us more determined to be

    watchful?

5 On the other hand, Jesus did know

many marvelous things about the future

—truths that most people around him

did not know at all. Our knowledge does

not approach that of Jesus, but thanks

to him, we do know a great deal about

God’s Kingdom and what it will accomplish

in the near future. As we look

around us, whether at school, at work, or

in the territory where we carry out our

ministry, do we not observe that most

people live in utter darkness regarding

these glorious truths? So here we find

    another reason for watchfulness. Like

Jesus, we always need to be alert, watching

for opportunities to share what we

know about God’s Kingdom. Each such

opportunity is precious, and we do not

want to squander any. Lives are at stake!

    —1 Tim. 4:16.

    COMMENTS

Does the WTS/GB/FDS claim to know “truths” only they know?

Are all non-jws in darkness; only jws in the light? Did non-jws predict the end would come in 1914, 1915, 1920, 1925, 1975, etc.?

Are jws sharing the same info today they did in 1975, 37 years after the end they predicted?

If jws deliberately avoid “opportunities,” do not prepare well, do not return to talk again to those they have conversations….do they really demonstrate that “lives are at stake” that is the lives of others not their own?

6 Jesus knew something else that led

him to remain watchful. He knew that

Satan was determined to tempt him, to

persecute him, and to break his integrity.

That vicious enemy was always watching

for “another convenient time” to put Jesus

to the test. (Luke 4:13) Jesus never let

down his guard. He wanted to be ready

for any test, be it temptation, opposition,

    or persecution. Cannot much the

same be said about us? We know that Satan

is still “like a roaring lion, seeking

to devour someone.” That is why God’s

Word exhorts all Christians: “Keep your

senses, be watchful.” (1 Pet. 5:8) How,

    though, can we do so?

    COMMENTS

Remember Jesus knew Satan before per the WTS. He had met Satan face to face later when Jesus was 30 years old. He knew the real danger and Jesus had angels guarding him, angels that he saw physically. Have jws had personal meetings with Satan, have they physically seen the angels supposedly guarding them? The WTS teaches that jws do not have any expectation of personal protection but only “as a group.”

HOW TO BE WATCHFUL IN PRAYER

7, 8. Jesus gave what counsel regarding prayer,

and what kind of example did he set?

7 The Bible draws a strong connection

    between spiritual alertness, or watchfulness,

and prayer. (Col. 4:2; 1 Pet. 4:7) Not

long after asking his followers to keep on

the watch with him, Jesus said: “Keep on

the watch and pray continually, that you

may not enter into temptation.” (Matt.

26:41) Did he mean to limit that counsel

to the dire situation they were facing at

the moment? No, his counsel is a principle

we are to live by every day.

    COMMENTS

The Bible draws…how many jws will have looked up these two verses?

Based on this paragraph, it is not amazing that many jws think Satan is waiting around the corner to attack them every day, attributing everything bad to a direct attack on them individually.

8 Jesus set a sterling example in

prayer. You may recall that he once spent

an entire night praying to his Father.

Let us try to picture the scene. (Read

Luke 6:12, 13.) It is springtime, likely

near the fishing town of Capernaum, Jesus’

home base in the region. As evening

falls, Jesus goes up one of the mountains

that overlook the Sea of Galilee.

As he views the darkening landscape, he

perhaps sees the flickering of oil lamps

down in Capernaum and other nearby

    villages. When Jesus addresses Jehovah,

though, he focuses intently on his prayer.

    Minutes—then hours—pass. He takes little

note as the lights far below go out one

by one or as the moon drifts across the

sky or as the nocturnal animals forage in

the brush. His prayer likely dwells on the

big decision that lies before him—that of

choosing his 12 apostles. We can imagine

Jesus immersed in telling his Father

all his thoughts and concerns about each

disciple as he earnestly begs for guidance

    and wisdom.

    COMMENTS

So are prayers supposed to be loooooong?

Did Jesus ever address God as “Jehovah” but as “Father”?

How many children call their father by his first name but as Dad or Daddy, Papa, or Pops?

    Likely…imagine?

    9. What can we learn from Jesus’ example of

    praying all night?

9 What can we learn from Jesus’ example?

That we must spend long hours

in prayer? No, for he kindly acknowledged

about his followers: “The spirit, of

course, is eager, but the flesh is weak.”

(Matt. 26:41) Nevertheless, we can imitate

Jesus. For instance, do we consult

our heavenly Father before making any

decision that may affect us, our family,

    or our fellow believers spiritually?

Do our prayers include concerns about

our brothers and sisters in the faith? Do

we pray from the heart rather than repeat

a set form of expressions? Notice,

too, that Jesus valued intimate, private

talk with his Father. In today’s busy,

hectic world, it is all too easy to get so

caught up in the rush of life that we forget

what matters most. If we make ample

time for in-depth, private prayer, we

will be more spiritually alert. (Matt. 6:

6, 7) We will draw closer to Jehovah, eager

    to strengthen our relationship with

him and avoid doing anything that might

    weaken it.—Ps. 25:14.

    COMMENTS

So we are to consult God before making ANY decision? When we get up, what to eat for breakfast, what car to buy? That would mean constant daily prayer for sure.

Are the prayers canned at your KH, assembly, convention? How often are the reviews or summations of the assembly or convention as if God was off somewhere else in the universe and missed it?

I knew jws that made public prayer in restaurants, that never prayed over meals at home……….

    HOW TO BE WATCHFUL

    IN THE PREACHING WORK

    10. What example shows us how Jesus kept

alert to opportunities to give a witness?

10 Jesus was watchful in the work that

Jehovah assigned him to do. There may

be some jobs that allow for the worker’s

mind to wander without serious consequences.

    Many jobs, though, call for

keen focus and alertness, and the Christian

ministry is certainly like that. Jesus

was ever alert in his work, watching

for opportunities to share the good

news. For example, when he and his disciples

arrived at the town of Sychar after

a long morning of walking, the disciples

went to purchase food. Jesus stayed

near the town’s well to rest, but he kept

alert, and he saw an opportunity to witness.

    A Samaritan woman approached

to draw water. Jesus could have chosen

to take a nap. He could have thought of

reasons to avoid a conversation. However,

he spoke up, involved the woman

in conversation, and gave a powerful

witness that affected many lives in that

city. (John 4:4-26, 39-42) Can we more

    closely imitate Jesus’ watchful example,

perhaps by striving to be increasingly

alert to opportunities to share the good

news with people we meet in our day-to-day

    life?

    COMMENTS

Is the work assigned by the WTS/GB/FDS that assigned by God?

Can you imagine Jesus nodding off during the Passover temple talk? How many nod off at conventions?

How many find ways to avoid a conversation at the door, knocking lightly, not ringing the bell, going out when people are not home, and even worse, making drive-by calls.

How many do street work engaging people in conversation not standing like a speechless statue? Or “business” work?

11, 12. (a) How did Jesus respond to those

who sought to distract him from his work?

    (b) What balance did Jesus display regarding

    his work?

    11 At times, well-meaning individuals

sought to distract Jesus from his work. In

Capernaum , the crowds were so moved

by Jesus’ miracles of healing that they

wanted to keep him there with them.

    That is understandable. However, Jesus’

mission was to preach to all “the lost

sheep of the house of Israel,” not just

those in one city. (Matt. 15:24) So he told

those people: “Also to other cities I must

declare the good news of the kingdom of

God, because for this I was sent forth.”

(Luke 4:40-44) Clearly, Jesus’ life was focused

on his ministry. He allowed nothing

    to sidetrack him.

    COMMENTS

So are people clamoring at jws to heal them, raise the dead?

Yes, jws are to speak to the homeless about the kingdom (asking for donations too), but not address their having no homes or food.

(James 2:15, 16)15 If a brother or a sister is in a naked state and lacking the food sufficient for the day, 16 yet a certain one of YOU says to them: “Go in peace, keep warm and well fed,” but YOU do not give them the necessities for [their] body, of what benefit is it?

12 Was Jesus so focused on his work

that he was a fanatic or an ascetic? Was

he so absorbed in his ministry that he

was aloof from the practical needs of

families? No, Jesus set a perfect example

of balance. He enjoyed life, taking pleasure

in happy times with his friends. He

    valued families, showing profound empathy

for their needs and problems, and

he freely showed his affection for children.—

    Read Mark 10:13-16.

    COMMENTS

That’s right, Jesus only had happy times with his “friends.” He never helped non-Jews (remember the Samaritan woman earlier?)

(Mark 7:24-30)24 From there he rose up and went into the regions of Tyre and Si′don. And he entered into a house and did not want anyone to get to know it. Yet he could not escape notice; 25 but immediately a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard about him and came and prostrated herself at his feet. 26 The woman was a Grecian, a Sy·ro·phoe·ni′cian nationally; and she kept asking him to expel the demon from her daughter. 27 But he began by saying to her: “First let the children be satisfied, for it is not right to take the bread of the children and throw it to the little dogs.” 28 In reply, however, she said to him: “Yes, sir, and yet the little dogs underneath the table eat of the crumbs of the little children.” 29 At that he said to her: “Because of saying this, go; the demon has gone out of your daughter.” 30 So she went away to her home and found the young child laid on the bed and the demon gone out.

    13. How can we imitate Jesus’ example of

watchfulness and balance when it comes to our

    Kingdom-preaching work?

13 As we imitate Jesus’ example of

watchfulness, how can we strive for a

similar balance? We do not let this world

distract us from our work. Even well meaning

    friends and relatives may urge

us to slow down in our ministry or to

seek what they see as a normal life. If we

imitate Jesus, however, we view our ministry

as if it were food. (John 4:34) Our

work nourishes us spiritually and brings

us delight as well. Yet, we never want to

    be extremists, displaying a self-righteous

or ascetic spirit. Like Jesus, we want to

be joyful, balanced servants of “the happy

    God.”—1 Tim. 1:11.

    COMMENTS

So do they mean jw “friends and relatives” or non-jw?

What does it mean to “slow down”? Is it sensible to put 60 hours in a month if you are dying of cancer? I know some would think so but not the ones putting in the 60 hours.

What does the WTS consider a “normal life”? Eating and drinking…

    *** w08 7/1 p.13 Planning a “Normal” Life

Unlike the rich man of Jesus’ illustration, you may be struggling financially. Nevertheless, if you are married, you no doubt plan to provide the necessities of life for your family and, if possible, a good basic education for your children. If you are single, your plans likely include finding a job or keeping the job you have, so that you are not a burden to others. These are worthwhile goals.—2 Thessalonians 3:10-12; 1 Timothy 5:8.

Even so, it is possible that working, eating, drinking—living what is considered to be a normal life—could bring a person into conflict with God’s will. How so? Jesus said: “Just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be.”—Matthew 24:37-39.

What is being an “extremist” or “ascetic”?

    *** w92 8/15 p.16 par.6***

We too should seek to be balanced about entertainment. Do we appreciate, for instance, that Jesus was not an ascetic? He took time for refreshing meals, such as the “big reception feast” that Levi spread. And when self-righteous ones criticized him for eating and drinking, Jesus rejected their views and ways. (Luke 5:29-31; 7:33-36) Recall, too, that he both attended a wedding and contributed to the festivities. (John 2:1-10) Jesus’ half brother Jude mentions that Christians had “love feasts,” apparently meals where needy ones could enjoy food and pleasant, relaxed fellowship.—Jude 12.

    HOW TO BE WATCHFUL

    IN TIMES OF TRIAL

    14. In times of trial, what tendency do we need

    to resist, and why?

14 As we have seen, some of Jesus’

most urgent exhortations to keep watchful

came when he was under severe trial.

(Read Mark 14:37.) When we face hardships,

we need his example more than

ever. Under trial, many tend to forget

a vital truth, one so important that the

book of Proverbs says it twice: “There exists

a way that is upright before a man,

but the ways of death are the end of

it afterward.” (Proverbs 14:12; 16:25) If

we rely on our own thinking, especially

when we face serious problems, we are

Jesus preached to the woman at the well.

What opportunities do you make to preach daily?

likely to endanger ourselves and those

    we love.

    COMMENTS

So what “severe” trials are jws to expect”? Aren’t they told that being a true jw, persecution is unavoidable even proof you have God’s backing?

(2 Timothy3:12) In fact, all those desiring to live with godly devotion in association with Christ Jesus will also be persecuted.

Jws are not rely on their own thinking, not the Bible’s even, but the WTS/GB/FDS explanation. (underline mine)

    *** w9410/1 p.8 CHANNELTO UNDERSTANDING THEB IBLE

JESUS assured us that after his death and resurrection, he would raise up a “faithful and discreet slave” that would serve as his channel of communication. (Matthew 24:45-47) The apostle Paul identified this channel to the Ephesian Christians when he wrote that “there might be made known through the congregation the greatly diversified wisdom of God, according to the eternal purpose that he formed in connection with the Christ, Jesus our Lord.” (Ephesians 3:10, 11) It was the congregation of anointed Christians, born at Pentecost 33 C.E., that was entrusted with the “things revealed.” (Deuteronomy 29:29) As a group, anointed Christians serve as the faithful and discreet slave. (Luke 12:42-44) Their appointed assignment from God is to provide spiritual understanding of the “things revealed.” Even as Bible prophecy pointed forward to the Messiah, it also directs us to the close-knit body of anointed Christian Witnesses that now serve as the faithful and discreet slave. It helps us to understand the Word of God. All who want to understand the Bible should appreciate that the “greatly diversified wisdom of God” can become known only through Jehovah’s channel of communication, the faithful and discreet slave.—John 6:68.

    15. What temptation may a family head face

    during hard economic times?

15 For example, a family head may

face severe pressure in providing materially

for “those who are his own.”

(1 Tim. 5:8) He might be tempted to

take a job that repeatedly causes him to

miss out on attending Christian meetings,

taking the lead in family worship,

or participating in the ministry. If he

relies solely on human thinking, such a

course could seem justifiable, even upright.

However, it may well result in

spiritual sickness or death. How much

better to follow the counsel of Proverbs

3:5, 6! Said Solomon: “Trust in Jehovah

with all your heart and do not lean upon

your own understanding. In all your

ways take notice of him, and he himself

Family head—can be a woman if no man in the household (imagine that?)

Must be many jws are putting feeding their family ahead of the meetings…of course, the congregation will provide…not.

Of course, Solomon showed how much he trusted in God, dying an unrepentant apostate.

    16. (a) What example of trusting Jehovah’s

wisdom rather than his own did Jesus set?

    (b) How are many family heads imitating Jesus’

example of trusting in Jehovah during hard

    times?

16 When Jesus was under trial, he resolutely

refused to lean on his own understanding.

Think of it! The wisest man ever to live on this earth chose

not to draw on his own wisdom for answers.

    For instance, when Satan tempted

    him, Jesus repeatedly answered with

the phrase: “It is written.” (Matt. 4:4, 7,

    10) He relied on his Father’s wisdom to

ward off temptation, showing the humility

that Satan despises and utterly lacks.

Do we do the same? A family head who

    imitates Jesus’ watchfulness lets God’s

Word guide him, especially in trialsome

times. Around the world, thousands of

family heads are doing just that. They

    are steadfastly putting God’s Kingdom

and pure worship first in life, even ahead

of material concerns. Thereby, they take

the best care of their families. Jehovah

responds by blessing their efforts to provide

for material needs, just as his Word

    promises.—Matt. 6:33.

So how many elders rely on the bible or their elders’ manual as an authority? Or worse yet rely on their authority as an elder overrule both?

How does God bless jws materially? Did the jws in your congregation do that?

    17. What moves you to imitate Jesus’ watchfulness?

17 Without question, Jesus set the best

    possible example of watchfulness. His

example is practical, beneficial, and even

lifesaving. Remember, Satan is eager to

lull you into spiritual sleep—a state of

    weak faith, lackadaisical worship, and

compromised integrity. (1 Thess. 5:6) Do

not let him succeed! Remain watchful as

Jesus did—watchful in your prayers, in

your ministry, and in dealing with trials.

By following that course, you will enjoy a

rich, happy, fulfilling life even now in the

twilight of this dying system of things.

A watchful course will also ensure that

when your Master comes to bring this

system to its end, he will find you alert

and active, doing his Father’s will. How

delighted Jehovah will be to reward you

    for your faithful course!—Rev. 16:15.

Once again the WTS leads jws to believe that Satan attacks them individually. I was told many years ago, that he merely does it through the wicked world.

Do jws pray for the end of “this dying system of things” not realizing they are praying for the end of 7 billion men, women and children, all non-jws?

    CONCLUDING COMMENTS

Next week, “BE COURAGEOUS AND VERY STRONG.” How many examples are from the OT and the NT?

Ah yes, the perfect example of Jesus... but what happens if you don't die before you turn 34? That's pretty much where his example ends.

So Jesus kept on the watch, yet he was still arrested and killed. Why exactly was he on the watch?

Blondie - Nice job as always, as I was sitting through that snoozer of a meeting the comment in p5 caught my attention.

we always need to be alert, watching for opportunities to share what we know about God’s Kingdom. Each such opportunity is precious, and we do not want to squander any. Lives are at stake!

What about all of the lives that have been dimished, repressed and ruined trying to always be in a state of alertness; trying to live up to the unfullfillable commitment of the WTS. Which is extremist and and not balanced as they try to say in the later paragraph. Jesus was certainly not an example of being balanced; but now the WTS is saying our lives our balanced (yay). Since they said it it must be true!

I just love their sexist language in this one.

The last sentence in par 10 asks: "Can we more closely imitate Jesus' watchful example, perhaps by striving to be increasingly alert to opportunities to share the good news with people we meet in our day-to-day life?"

I don’t mind identifying myself as a Christian and sharing some beneficial Bible truth with individuals. However, I find that I’m more and more reluctant to identify myself as a JW due to the JW reputation of being (1) hypocrites, (2) loveless toward their own and (3) inaccurate in an abundance of Bible doctrine.

What a load of rubbish to waste a Sunday afternoon discussing. The witlesses spend so much time watching for the wrong things--a Great Tribulation that will never come. In fact, while they were on the watch for the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger, "Jesus" returned (he returns every morning--he is merely a representation of the sun). Also, they let the Age of Aquarius slip in unnoticed while they were distracted by the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger.

Now, granted I didn't notice it before or immediately after, either. However, I started noticing anti-Christian material, including Devil worship material, that I had been ignoring previously. And I took notice this time--a sign that a major age change had taken place. As for being "in the truth", I feel more "in the truth" studying Satanic things (including checking links and doing Google searches proving the Bible is full of plagiarized material) than I ever did while I was a witless. That is more than can be said about witlesses--what if the real truth they are "keeping on the watch for" is outside their religion and they miss it?
