well it depends how long false religion, (JW's), continue thier fornication with her, (NGO Status), that the harlot will eventually turn on her.
I think that whole prophecy was shit and they had a good run with it. This benign organization has no more ability to stop an individual rogue nation than it does ending all religion.
Is it possible that the bible is just a book, and revelation is not some grand vision but some nonsense written knowing that there will always be some fools who try to interpret it and apply it to their own day?
Diamomsiiz, I recommend reading "Misquoting Jesus." I hate to keep promoting this book but it's a good book; full of information. I found it disturbing but informative.
I suspect that at some future date the Watchtower Society will change this doctrine. They'll come up with some 'new light', with some new 'understanding' in regard to the beast, the harlot or both.

The WTS. is riding on top of the the Great Beast with the Harlot, so I would assume the WTS. thinks

Correct. I can recall many, many years back when it was a big thing among the dubs that my Mother turned to me for help in explaining to her sister, how Bab the Gt had already fallen....
Erm.....it was in 1919 when the church-inspired persecution of Jehovah's people could no longer hold the directors of the Society in jail.....or something like that .
I knew it sounded ridiculous , even then.
As for religion today? we should not forget that large swathes of the world are Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist and other religions, It is only the Western world in which atheism has a hold. I see religion still having a firm hold today.
